"Then the Family Would Say, 'It's That Horrible Cat!'..."

>_> They're doing it again.

Da's family is ignoring my existence. I think it's because I'm in disgrace after having a birthday so close to Grandma's dying; but whatever the reason, it's upsetting.

They never call for any of our birthdays. They never send cards (Grandma did, actually, but no one else). They never show the slightest bit of interest in us whatsoever, though they're reasonably obsessed with our second cousins. They don't send thank you notes for gifts.

Mum's family, even the aunt who hates us, still remembers we exist. Da's family...

It's just so weird.

And upsetting. Yes. I keep wondering if it's something we did, a long time ago.

It sounds like your immediate family was not informed of the feud, but why would they ignore you? I know my own immediate family is ignored by several relatives, but that is because my parents moved hundreds of miles away. I hope it is nothing like petty contempt, but families are the ultimate mystery of the Universe when disputes are concerned.

Mum says that they just don't like making a big deal out of things. She says that they're just somewhat antisocial. Ah well.

I suppose that with thirty cats, antisocial is probable, whether one wants it or not.
