...Okay. SO. Laertes' poison? Is a potion much like the one Juliet drinks. Therefore, Hamlet does not die. Laertes does, because he's been run through. However, it has a side-effect; Hamlet ends up paralysed/unable to speak/somehow incapacitated. He becomes King, but Horatio is forced to rule in all but official recognition while Hamlet sits around and emos.
