"Isn't That Interesting...?"

They're setting off (illegal) fireworks in Halifax, Duncannon, Camp Hill, and Marysville, and we can see them from here, even though we're rather far away, especially from Halifax. They keep making popping splittering cracking noises and Mum and Waen went out to stand on the hill by the Goblin House and watch them.

They didn't tell me they were going, or I would have gone too...!

I realised that with my salary at work, I'll be able to buy my own tickets to New York. I earn minimum wage, but that'll still be more than enough to go see Hamlet with my Ladymine. It's actually very exciting to realise. Only I was wondering, Zara--if you don't mind--could I have the schedules? Daddy wants to see them. He's still suspicious.

(He's being awful to-day. I have had not to speak to him at least three times.)

Okay. This is the schedule that your mother and I worked out. Between Harrisburg and Philly you'd on the train and between Philly and NYC on the bus. To get between the Philly bus and train stations we could tale a)the subway (fastest, cheapest, and easiest), b) commuter trains, or c) taxi.

Harrisburg 7:20
Philadelphia 9:10

Philadelphia 11:00
New York 1:00

PLAY 3:00 - 5:00

New York 6:00
Philadelphia 8:10

Philadelphia 9:15
Harrisburg 11:10

Perfect, thank you. I'll print them out and show them to her.

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2006-07-09 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, Mum says she'd much rather we both took the train the whole way there (you met me when I got into Philly and then just went on to NY with me), and she'll also pay the extra it'll cost you to go by train instead of bus (this because she's willing to pay extra to avoid her daughter being EATEN BY A SCARY BUS MONSTER OF DOOM AND BIG DROOLING TEETH ^_^), and also then we wouldn't have to worry about time constraints as much.

...I don't suppose you'd have the Harrisburg to Philly to NYC train schedule on hand? O:D

[identity profile] silverdragon262.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
...It would cost me $100 or $115 for a round trip ticket on the train; my round trip bus ticket cost $28. That's... rather ridiculous. If it would make her feel better, you could take the train straight on to New York and forget about meeting me here. I could meet you there...?

But-- would I be getting on your train and just continuing on? I don't know if we could find eachother.

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
I can pay for that, I'm pretty sure, and I'm certainly prepared to. I want you with me whichever way we decide to go.

Yes! That's right. We'd have a bit of time before the train to NY went on, so we could meet and you could get on and then we'd go.

[identity profile] silverdragon262.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
You're not paying it. We'll pay it, if we go that route.

Well, there's one that leaves for you at 8:55, gets me at 11:10, and gets us in NYC at 12:30. Presuming it doesn't run late. I hate trains because of the last times I took one it was running about 6 hours late.

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
I was looking at the one that left for me at 7:20, got you at 9:10 and gets us to NY at 11:45.

[identity profile] silverdragon262.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
*pokes at schedule* Is not on here. *goes to poke the at website instead*

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
I have it printed out from the website.

[identity profile] silverdragon262.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
It's on there. ;___; No fair. Stupid schedule.

agsjkbjklanionmakl it's so much money.

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
dashjfskgsfjlsdh I DON'T CARE. It's going to be your early birthday present.

Look at it this way. If I didn't do your train fare, I was going to get you the Hamlet film thingy of a kajillion million dollars. This is actually less expensive.

[identity profile] silverdragon262.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
No you're not allowed. And you're not allowed that either. I don't want charity. I'm paying for the train.

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
...This is so many kinds of not charity. This is god-damn you are my best friend in the whole world and there is no effing way I am missing a chance to spend time with you, and I do not care how much it costs. I want to be with you.

[identity profile] silverdragon262.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
You're not missing it; I'll buy the train ticket. it's okay. if the only way your parents will let you go, it's the way we'll go.

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
When we've already discussed student loans and debts, and it's fine with me, and I really don't want to make anything worse for you. Not when you've got to work this hard at everything already.

[identity profile] silverdragon262.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
Really, it's fine and I'll pay. I don't have the money anyway, so it'll be from my parents-- and I don't know, maybe they'll consider it part of my birthday or something.

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
That is not good. I'm just earning mine for no particular reason in any case, because I don't actually need it yet, and I could do it without any trouble at all, I really could (and don't ask me the same thing in four years, because then I'll actually be in college and BROKE BROKE BROKE).

[identity profile] silverdragon262.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
I don't want you to do that, and I promise you I will be even more unhappy if you try.

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
You swear? ...Wait, you're unhappy now. ;______________; *clings*

[identity profile] silverdragon262.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
I swear. ... ;________;. *cling*

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
*clingsback and cuddles* I'm sorry. I just--I want to see you so much, and I don't want to miss you or lose time with you because of something so wholly stupid and all-encompassing as money.

[identity profile] silverdragon262.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
But-- it's really okay and we can manage, I think, but-- spending so much money just makes me feel sick inside. I'm willing to spend it, but-- it's just that if the fares had been that much in the first place, I wouldn't have even considered going.

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
If that is the case, hell with it. We're taking the bus.

[identity profile] silverdragon262.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
>________< I don't want to make your parents unhappy with me, and there is a chance that we won't make our connections.

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
I've had more luck with the bus than with the train, haven't I? As long as you promise to meet me when I get in at the train station, so that I don't have to find the bus station by myself, that's what we'll do, and it'll be fine.
