"Still She Leaves a Light Burning in the Hall..."

Baby, I did stuff to-day.

I got up at crazy o'clock (eight-thirty) and recycled in Newport and went the gym and bought the most amazing balloon for Zara's birthday and yes I do plan ahead why do you ask now shush and then went to a graduation party for the son of one of Mum's close friends--incidentally, did you know they make custom M&Ms? because I didn't, but now I do, and believe that I will use that information to my own ends--and then went to the Oriental house and scraped the paint off the summer kitchen as prep for sanding and painting it. :D I have not been home at all to-day--we got back from Oriental around nine.

Also? I have a shiny. I'll take photographs at some point.

And. What else. OH. TWO CONVERSATIONS OF LIFE SCREWING WITH SOUJIN.

Her: Hey, you're Kay's other daughter, aren't you?
Me: Yes. ^_^
Her: How old are you?
Me: Seventeen.
Her: BAHAHAHAHA. *wipes tear* Seriously, how old are you? Twelve?
Me: ...
Her: Wait, you really are seventeen?
Me: ...Yes.

Me: So I need to ILL Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell.
Her: We have that in the booksale, actually.
Me: Oo! Really? For how much?
Her: Three bucks.
Me: Ooo. Okay. I'll just buy it, then.
Her: 'Kay. *fetches book*
Me: :D I used to have a copy of this, looked exactly like this one, but I lost it. It was sad because I paid sixty dollars for it.
Her: Really? When did you lose it?
Me: About a year ago.
Her: This was donated about a year ago.
Me: ...really now.
Her: Yep.
Me: ...
Her: ...
Me: Did I just buy my own sixty-dollar book back for three dollars?
Her: I believe you did.
Me: GAHHHH.
Her: Ha ha ha! You don't have to pay for it.
Me: OH I BELIEVE I WILL.
Her: HA HA HA.

See? Totally screwing with me. Cripes.

...AHHHHHHH both stories are incredible. XDDDDD

Also, I am SO glad you got it back. By whatever convoluted means. XD Cause you have GOT to read it.

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2007-06-17 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
SERIOUSLY, DO I LOOK TWELVE?

XD I will. As soon as I finish Bartlett and the Forest of Plenty, Moll Flanders, and some other thing I have out.

[identity profile] gileonnen.livejournal.com 2007-06-17 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
You poor dear--! You do not look twelve. I suppose you could pass for fifteen through eighteen--but not twelve. Additionally, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell should never have cost sixty bucks. You, miss, got screwed with a year ago. =( =( (But you have to reeeead it because I play a chaaaaracter--)

[identity profile] snowyofthenight.livejournal.com 2007-06-17 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
That first conversation is my life. XD

[identity profile] snowyofthenight.livejournal.com 2007-06-17 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
(LISTEN TO HER. READ IT. *...stops butting in >>*)

[identity profile] gileonnen.livejournal.com 2007-06-17 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
(*giggles* No, don't stop, you're helping with the persuasion!)

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2007-06-17 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you so much. XD People think that all the time, though, I get thirteen and fourteen all the time. It makes me flail. Additionally, I got JS&MN a) hardcover b) when it first came out and c) at a college bookstore, all of which I believe contributed to the price. Also, I'm going to read it eventually. XD

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2007-06-17 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
Really? You have my vast sympathies.
bewareofitalics: (My very own shadow!)

[personal profile] bewareofitalics 2007-06-17 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
All of us who look twelve and totally aren't should form a club. And then TAKE OVER THE WORLD.

And ow. But on the bright side, hey, you got your book back! :D

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2007-06-17 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
I agree. They'd think we were innocent like children... UP UNTO THE PART WHERE WE DUNGEONED THEM ALL.

XD There's definitely that.

[personal profile] bewareofitalics 2007-06-17 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
IT WOULD BE BRILLIANT.

[identity profile] silverdragon262.livejournal.com 2007-06-17 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
... I has a birthday? :D

Also.

ahem.

[identity profile] julietveiled.livejournal.com 2007-06-17 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
...*cries* People always think I'm older than I am. I don't think I've ever been mistaken for younger. My own age? Sometimes. 2-10 years older? More likely. ...but can I still take over the world with you?
bewareofitalics: (Default)

[personal profile] bewareofitalics 2007-06-17 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
YOU CAN PEEL OUR GRAPES, YOU OLDER-LOOKING PERSON YOU!

...*coughs*

[identity profile] brieboo.livejournal.com 2007-06-17 07:08 am (UTC)(link)
lol, my violin teacher's mom described me to him as "a little girl". Considering I'm four years older than he is, and indeed, not much younger than she was when she birthed him, this was strange.

Oh, the age-thing...

...I never really had a problem until I moved down here, and then suddenly all the newsagents wanted ID to prove I was over 16. I'm 26. At that point it just becomes funny...

I'm sure in a few decades when we are middle-aged women, all the other middle-aged women will envy us for not looking our age though :D

[identity profile] reconditarmonia.livejournal.com 2007-06-17 02:23 pm (UTC)(link)
How did JS&MN cost $60? Someone ripped you off! But it is indeed the best book and you must read it. ^__^

[identity profile] prouvairesylvie.livejournal.com 2007-06-17 02:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Those conversations are very funny. Aw, from the pictures you put up, you do not look twelve. :)

[identity profile] tomecatti.livejournal.com 2007-06-17 03:09 pm (UTC)(link)
XDXD I never get to have conversations like that! Lucky...

[identity profile] tomecatti.livejournal.com 2007-06-17 03:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, not the 12 years old one... You don't look 12... Though your face is very youthful!

[identity profile] nrtf.livejournal.com 2007-06-17 06:05 pm (UTC)(link)
When do you normally awaken?

[identity profile] missingclone.livejournal.com 2007-06-18 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
hmm... i thought about you today...

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2007-06-19 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
Really? I was thinking about you this weekend.

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2007-06-19 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
Eh, depends. Anywhere from nine to one, really.
