Oh, "Mr. Jones". I think Counting Crows is sweet (though admittedly the only songs I know of theirs are a cover -- "Big Yellow Taxi" -- and that Shrek song, "Accidentally in Love"), but there's just something so sad and wonderful about "Mr. Jones" that you can't help but love it. It's remarkably heartfelt without being mawkish.

Also, this just in: you are still wonderful. I don't have that Tom Waits song, actually, so thank you! But you've heard "Innocent When You Dream", yes? That weird gravelly voice is perfect for such songs, how odd and yet it somehow makes perfect sense.

I was listening to "Restless" the other day. It may become the anthem of this semester.
