Well, I took my PhD qualifying exams this past weekend and it nearly caused me to explode, but I survived (haven't gotten the results yet, though - hopefully I'll pass!).

If I pass, then I can *start* working on my PhD; i.e. I can stay in school after this semester. Assuming I pass, I'll probably have four more years before I actually get the degree. Aaaahhhh, etc.
