"I Should Tell I Blew the Candle Out Just to Get Back In..."

Mmm, this is fun. Researching what in hell to do in Pittsburgh, since we're going there in two or three days. I didn't like Pittsburgh the last time we went there, although the penguin was cute.

Lent is killing me. Killing me, hear you? Forty days without any kind of sugary food whatsoever. I can have sugar in drinks, but I hate tea and coffee, no one ever buys Kool-aid, and I'm not allowed carbonated drinks.

Becca brought cookies in for everyone to-day, and Soujin curled up in the corner with her pretzels and tried not to look. Becca evil.

Lesbian issue finally cleared up, and for perhaps the first time, Evil Acting Teacher complimented me on something I said.

Ah, well, back to Pittsburgh.

(*wail* I want it to be Easter already!)

I am so utterly and completely unsympathetic.

Evil Acting Teacher

*snerks* That spells "EAT"

Nasty little unsympathetic Taira. *pokepokes*

Does it? I'd like to eat her. With a garnish of parsley. Then she'd leave me alone.

Oh, the curse of being Catholic! In Bill Clinton Voice I feel your pain.

Pittsburgh? Not so pretty, but more interesting than what I did--spending two weeks last Summer in Chambersburg.

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2004-03-11 01:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not Catholic! I'm a liberal Episcopalian! Only I'm not, because I'm not chosing a religion until I've studied them all and decided which one most appeals to me or fits with what I believe in. But for the time being, I'm a liberal Episcopalian.

Chambersburg? We live near there.

[identity profile] sansenmage.livejournal.com 2004-03-11 01:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, my mistake regarding religion! Hehehehe!

Yes, wonderful historic Chambersburg where crusing laws are zealously enforced! But I spent most of my time in the backwaters of Frankln County for headstones, being that I am the genealogist extraordinaire in my family.

Religion is too, too confusing.

Really? That sounds interesting. ^_^

[identity profile] madamelefantome.livejournal.com 2004-03-11 01:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, this will sound 80 times retarded, but... what is Lent? Why can't you eat sugar?

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2004-03-11 01:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Lent is a time of abstinence and fasting. Catholics give up all red meat and some dairy, I understand, but Episcopalians give up something they need to give up. For pretty much everyone in our church, sugar is given up.

The general idea, however, is that we give up something we should give up but never got around to giving up. *squints*

It's because Jesus fasted forty days and forty nights when the devil tried to tempt him, I believe.

Oooohhhhhh, okay. Me+religion=does not compute.

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2004-03-11 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
This is quite okay. It´s not, I´m led to believe, an orthodox branch of Christianity.

[identity profile] tairaworld.livejournal.com 2004-03-11 05:57 pm (UTC)(link)

I'm not Catholic. Catholic Lent works just the same as yours. I'm Eastern Orthodox. We're technically supposed to give up red and white meat, fish, wine, oil, dairy and sweets, but I get a break because I'm "still growing" and need nourishment.

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2004-03-11 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not Catholic.

*hides* Ah! Sorry! I thought you were Catholic. My bad. *pokes* Lucky evil little thang.

[identity profile] memise.livejournal.com 2004-03-12 01:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, the irony!

(And it would be quite ironic if this is, in fact, not irony.)

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2004-03-12 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know if it's an ironic as it is funny. *g* No one can tell what anyone else's religion is.

[identity profile] tairaworld.livejournal.com 2004-03-12 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)
At least we have no doubts about Shoukie being an atheist.

...Which would be useful, if she had an lj. I'll shut up now. Sorry. Having so many sisters home is traumatizing me.

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2004-03-12 07:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Right. And Waen's an agnostic. That's all very simple.

[identity profile] memise.livejournal.com 2004-03-12 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Banana 1: Alas, the pains of being Catholic!
Banana 2: I'm not Catholic!

Banana 2: Catholic people do such and such.
Banana 3: I'm not Catholic!

Banana 4: The irony!
Banana 2: It's not irony!

What am I? (1) Rubbing things in, (2) half asleep, (3) incredibly shallow and stupid today. Oh, happy day! :D All sing and dance and skip. To bed. Good-night.

Anyway, regarding Pimpernel, I was quite amused by the way it was written. (In my version, at least; I looked at my friend's version and it seemed to be different.) It seemed very blunt, and had some sort of quality that just, er, seemed very cute to me. :) Perhaps I am odd.

[identity profile] jellicle-mizzie.livejournal.com 2004-03-11 01:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, Pittsburgh! I, unfortunately, have never gone there. :( *sniffle*

Lent is teh_evilness. But, me, being an Atheist, I don't have to give up anything! *dances...pauses, offers Soujin a pretzel*XD

Lesbian issue...? Oh, tell. :D

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2004-03-11 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I don´t find it particularly unfortunate on your part, m´dear.

::glowers, but takes the pretzel for sustenence. there is absolutely nothing to eat in this house::

Lesbian issue = Peter and Becca refused to act in a play that had minour character lesbians who did nothing more than hold hands. Result: For six hours, we debated whether it should stay in. Finally, Becca said her parents wouldn´t allow her to be in the play if the lesbians were. Soujin was ready to back down, because people for homosexuality can afford to be in a play without it, but people against shouldn´t be forced to be in a play with, but then half the other people decided it /had/ to be in, so there was more discussion, and finally everyone caved to what I´d said in the /first/ place, and out it came. It was incredibly annoying and excruciating. ::rants::
