Imogen Stubbs is so hot.

Um. Yes. Just finished watching Twelfth Night, because quoting it inspired me to see it.

That movie is the slashiest thing ever... So, so, so slashy. *buries face in arms* And mother will kill me if I say that, since it's her favourite movie.

If anyone feels like writing me Antonio/Sebastian, I will love that person as long as I live and forever after that, too.

Javert (Les Miserables) / Napoleon (Real person)

Archie Kennedy (Hornblower) / William Blakeney (Master and Commander)

Ow...

Twelfth Night is one of the best Shakespeare movie adaptions I have ever seen, especially with Helena Bonham Carter, Richard E. Grant, and Yellow Stockings.

Yellow Stockings! Oh, God, you're right! *expires* Pretty yellow stockings... And then there's the fact that Richard E. Grant plays the Scarlet Pimpernel...

Although Kenneth Branaugh's Much Ado is splendiferous.

Hey, the slashiness is right there in the script! I studied Twelfth Night as part of my private reading course last semester, and my teacher and I definitely discussed Antonio/Sebastian. And, like, the whole "I'm in love with a man who's really a woman" thing. *g* And then I saw the movie with my friend and we both expressed sorrow for poor, abandoned Antonio.

*squishes him* Mum gets so annoyed when I squeal over it... But it's so there, like you said. And it's PRETTY!

lol i wrote an essay for my college english lit class on how antonio typifies the ideal renaissance romantic hero and how he and some of the other supporting characters add to the, i forget what i said, the undermining of the happy ending by showing how convention can thwart love and desire. i LOVE antonio, and the actor does such a great job of portraying him!!!!

...i'll write you antonio/sebastien if you don't mind that it'll be BAD. ;)

What you said. All and exactly what you said. *_* (*hugs Malvolio* Damn, but I felt sorry for him by the end...)

See, I'd agree in .42 seconds, but I'm thirteen years old, and up there with Cosette in naivete.

that's another thing about twelfth night...depending on how malvolio's played, you can end up being pretty deeply disturbed by the "prank" that the other minor characters play on him...nice thing about the fine lines production is that malvolio is prudish enough to be annoying but also human enough to elicit sympathy, so his fate walks the line between "he deserved it" and "oh, god, poor guy."

and oh, god. i meant "bad" as in "really not-good quality-wise." we can form a naivete club, i swear, just ask mhari 'cause i'm the same way. i can't write smut, and even /reading/ slash has me looking furtively over my shoulder for the decency police.

the real problem is that i don't think that sebastien really knew what was up with antonio. he probably figured that there was something odd, further than mere good friendship, but it didn't occur to him /what/; and i think he was probably straight. so writing something requited might be beyond me.

(i do have scraps of the give-antonio-a-happy-ending fic floating around. i'll finish that one day...maybe.)

Yes! Yes! >_> You have a way with words the Soujin does not possess. At any rate, yes. You're right.

And oh, well in that case, by all means! *thinks of naivete club a la Calvin and Hobbes, with a President and First Innocent*

Hey, unrequited is good. I used to write that, before people stopped letting me. *g*

(oooh, do)
