I never had it. I got the vaccine, but I'm still paranoid that I'll--holy crap, maybe that'll be the reason I die when I'm 30! It's more original than consumption.

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2004-12-13 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
It totally is! Unfortunately, I've never heard of it being particularly dangerous except in the case of the cleaning guy at Stoneybridge, who had it at twenty-four so severely that they were seriously worried about him. O_o

Good luck not getting it!

Arg, chickenpox. It's rather horrible to get it as an adult, but luckily, I only had it when I was four and can't remember it. Having said that, I stand by the fact that shingles really, really isn't fun.

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2004-12-13 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay for having long, long ago! Major woe for having shingles! >_< *hugsmuch*

I had it when I was, like, four, and I barely had it at all. I had, according to my parents, about six spots and I was frustrated beyond measure because I didn't FEEL sick, but I had to miss Valentine's Day at preschool anyway. =(

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2004-12-13 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, technically, that's a very good thing. *pets* And I'll send you a card at Valentine's to make up for it. ^_^

Sweeatheart love, please ignore my answers to numbers one to four. They are pure guessage, as I was eighteen months at the time and quite honestly do not remember much about the disease.

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2004-12-13 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
But that's the idea! To see really how much people know! If that's what you know, that's good! *refuses to ignore*

All my friends had it at the same time I did. I was in fashion. And I got to play with them. But my mom was all, "OATMEAL BATH!"

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2004-12-13 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Rock! Also, the oatmeal was disgusting. I remember. It was the like omg the ickyest thing ever, because it got all nasty in the water, and--urgh. Tres mal.

[identity profile] rimusu.livejournal.com 2004-12-13 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Eek! I made a grammatical error in the open-ended bit; am mortified. T_T Oatmeal baths were fun, I seem to recall.

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2004-12-13 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Aww, that's okay, darling thing! Your grammar is all forgiven. Good for you for enjoying the oatmeal. :) I didn't. But I really don't like things in my water. I still won't take baths because I know I'll be sitting in my dirt by the end.

[identity profile] rimusu.livejournal.com 2004-12-13 07:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Hehhh, yes that. Also, things doctor told me in past years have turned me off baths for the most part.

Baths in Japan are quite relaxing, though. You take a shower and wash all (well, most) dirt away, then soak in a hot bath. This was very good on the day I got to my first host family, after I'd been half-fainting with terror. T_T;

Having chicken pox was almost fun for me. ^^; I got flannel buttonup pyjamas and got to share the experience with my brother, and I remember lots of relatives calling me to see how it was. Hee.

ooooh, that sounds lovely! ^____^

No fair. :P

I actually went and performed in a school play with a whole big group of other children, while I had chicken pox...so so much for that whole staying away from people thing eh?

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2004-12-13 07:02 pm (UTC)(link)
*snrks* Oh, well. I bet their mums were all glad to get it over with, and all the teachers must have had a field day if they all caught at once and had to cop out of school.

(I have, incidentally, succeeded in using a different NDdP icon to reply to every one of these comments. GO ME!)

I had the privilege of getting the chicken pox on my birthday thanks to my sisters.

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2004-12-13 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, argh. >_

[identity profile] mmebahorel.livejournal.com 2004-12-13 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I mostly remember that spring break sucked because I was sick, I still had dried up pox when I went back to school, so I was made fun of, and while I didn't have oatmeal baths, I had a whole lot of Caladryl (calamine lotion with benedryl in it, too). And I'd lay on a towel on the bed while my mother tried to put it on every single pock, and then I'd end up stuck to the towel and it really really sucked on many levels.

I was in second grade. Second grade was a bad year.

Majorly urgh. It sounds absolutely dreadful. >_> Poor you!
