1. Comment with any pairing from a fandom that you know I like, or at least have some knowledge about.
2. I will ramble for whatever length I damn well feel like about aforementioned pairing. This may be incoherent gushing, exclamations of disgust, earnest rambling about particular relationship dynamics, or discussion of probable kinks. Whatever.
3. Put this on your LJ, if you are so inclined.
And then there's this meme, which I will continue to post once every year in the hopes that someone, someday, will take pity on me and fill it out:
1) What was the first story you read that I wrote?
1a) Did you like it or not?
1b) Why or why not?
1c) What do you remember most about it?
2) What story of mine do you like the best?
2a) Why?
2b) What separates it from the other stuff I wrote?
2c) What separates it from other stories like it?
3) What story of mine do you like the *least*?
3a) Why?
3b) What separates it from the other stuff I wrote?
3c) What separates it from other stories like it, if anything?
4) What about my writing style grabs you?
4a) What stories exemplify this style?
5) What type of story (not which characters) would you like to see me write?
6) Is there a specific character or situation you'd like to see me try my hand at?
6a) Why do you think I'd be good at it?
7) Is there anything, in your experience, that you think would help me fix a specific flaw in my writing?
I have exactly three hours to try and write my Moby-Dick/Twenty-Thousand Leagues crossover before Moby-Dick is due back at the library. Not promising. Feh. *wibbles* Well, at least Gulliver's Travels is mine, so that if the opportunity ever arises for me to become inspired and write my slashfic, I may.

Okay, well, I find that one very attractive, myself. In fact, when people ask me if I'd like a random LM drabble, I generally shout it out. They're--almost the same, in so many ways, though I rather think Jean's capable of more self-control, under most circumstances. But there's the appeal of Jean's innocence versus Grantaire's debauchedness (great word, that), which is of course sexy in some strange, twisted way, even with their likenesses. And then there's the whole bit where their names rhyme. I find that very sexy, too. *g*
Um. But. This is the one I absolutely cannot write myself. But I will beg the world for it. I heart much.

And they both have noses. All the way, baby.

1a) Did you like it or not? I liked it very much indeed.
1b) Why or why not? Because I was at Spanish camp, and it was in English. And they couldn't even confiscate it, because it was a letter. HA. Also because, you know what it was like back then, I was all for the stupid funny stories.
1c) What do you remember most about it? ...You saying it was "like yaoi, but straight". Oh, how naïve we were for wanting the best part of slash to be removed!
Sorry that it's not all insights into your writing and such, but it was a long time ago and we both wrote crappily back then.
2) What story of mine do you like the best? Oh, yikes. Erk. ...Would you be frustrated with me if I said the Adrian/Hugo? Even though it's more about the ship than the writing? Erm. I wish your fics were memoried. Wait. Hang on.
I should read more of your fics; this is shameful. Am such a horrific friend. Shall read more from now on.
Wait. Can I do original fic? Cursum Perficio.
2a) Why? Because it's real... but also... soft? It deals with things, but gently. I don't know how to explain it. It's sort of like a big warm fuzzy cloud, and even when bad things happen and it gets sad, they're eventually absorbed into the fuzziness.
2b) What separates it from the other stuff I wrote? For one thing, it's original fic, and I love your original fic, dearest. Love it. Also, I really just love the whole tone of it, like I tried to articulate above with the "warm fuzzy cloud" concept. It's really beautiful.
2c) What separates it from other stories like it? ...What other stories like it?
3) What story of mine do you like the *least*? Eesh. This is difficult. Can I skip this section? Because it's all going to be your old fics, the ones that you've learned better than by now.
3a) Why?
3b) What separates it from the other stuff I wrote?
3c) What separates it from other stories like it, if anything?
4) What about my writing style grabs you? I love the imagery. And your fics have this whole atmosphere to them that really reminds me of you—which is good, because it means that not only do you really put yourself into them, but that it shows.
4a) What stories exemplify this style? Let me find it... this one (http://www.geocities.com/sabishiisoujin/glass.html).
5) What type of story (not which characters) would you like to see me write? Hmm. I suppose it'd be interesting to see you try darkfic. I've seen you write disturbing things, but... it's always had that same undertone of Soujin wibbling in the background. I've never seen you write anything really twisted.
6) Is there a specific character or situation you'd like to see me try my hand at? ...I'd like to see you do Simpson.
6a) Why do you think I'd be good at it? Because your characterizations are often so spot-on it's scary, and I've never seen Simpson fic.
7) Is there anything, in your experience, that you think would help me fix a specific flaw in my writing? There are some things I could think of with your writing that I would tweak, but I can't make a blanket statement... All I can say is that the best way to write better is to read good writing. But yours is already great, love.

OMG. Hee! You're right; I'd forgotten all about that! Ha! Oh, dear. We were so unenlightened back then...
You are SO NOT a horrific friend! Come on, lovey; you're filling this thing out in the first place.
2a) Why? Because it's real... but also... soft? It deals with things, but gently. I don't know how to explain it. It's sort of like a big warm fuzzy cloud, and even when bad things happen and it gets sad, they're eventually absorbed into the fuzziness.

*squees softly* I appreciate that, I really do. Thank you so much.
2c) What separates it from other stories like it? ...What other stories like it?
That, too.
*g* And thank you again for skipping the middle section. Sweet of you, that.
Well, NOW you've got me started. Now I need to write Simpson darkfic. *sighs lightly* That'll be really interesting, that will. An excuse to break out the ol' HH! Okay, damn. It's almost definitely going to happen, now. You've tripped my wires.
All I can say is that the best way to write better is to read good writing. But yours is already great, love.
Thank you so much. And you're right, too--the more I read, the more I see what needs improving about my own work. And I'm able to improve it. Such is the power of great lit.
*hugs and loves* I fill it out for you when you do it, promise.
(P.S. Read Moby-Dick!!1!!!)

Thanks, dearest. ♥ But I still should know more of your writing than I do.
Ooh! I'm excited about the Simpson darkfic! That shall be v. v. interesting.
You're very welcome. *g*

I think I should know more of your writing.
^__^ Okay! As soon as I get Snowy's Feuilly/Prouvaire finished up, yes indeed.
