"Everybody Knew My Name..."

At library presently, something which allows me to cheat at not going online, apparently.

My eyes hurt terribly because the optometrist dilated my pupils. Mum says one can't tell because my eyes are already so big and dark, so I checked, and she's right. Augh. No one can appreciate my pain. ^_~

Carnival is the most beautiful thing. I've listened to it twice at home, and I shall a third time when I get back.

Also, I'm never having children, and I may have to quit my job at the library. The librarian's granddaughter, and what seems to have been designated my job of looking after her while I work, is wearing me out, and I've been trying not to cry again. Mum says I should quit. But I love my world of books.

Paradoxical. Or something.

In other news, I AM NOT GOING TO BE MICKLE. NO.

You shouldn't quit :(!!
Unless she's gonna be there forever.. Is she?

And sorry about your eyes >_<;

*grimace* I did. But only for the month of August, because after that she'll be back in school, I hope.

>_> So am I. :D

Children are intolerable. :p I'm glad you've sense enough not to have any. Try to stay sane in the meantime!

They are. Thank you, and thank you again. <3

I feel your pain. I had the same problem, the one time I ever got my pupils dilated. And then we went outside and it was the middle of the afternoon in June and there was this bright white truck right in front of me that the sun was reflecting off of, the first thing I saw as we left the optometrist's -- AUGH.

Anyway.

Yeah. You are, sweetness. You know you really are. Would you like an icon or two to convince you further? ;)

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2005-08-07 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
AUGH. *cringes*

It's not fair.

Ooooh, I hate you.

Gah, hate the eye-dilating thing. And it doesn't even let you see in the dark. *pouts*

Could you talk to the librarian about her granddaughter? Tell her she's interfering with your job or something?

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2005-08-07 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
>_> There's nothing positive! It's just evil!

Well, she, er, she's very fond of the granddaughter. Also the granddaughter does not tend to listen to anybody, liek ever. >_> And I'm scared of confrontation. It was much easier simply to cop out.

Dilated pupils are not fun. I haven't had mine done in awhile, but all the times I do remember, I was a child, and that was somehow worse. And see, you're getting lots of virtual sympathy, which is better than real-life-sympathy. Er. Somehow, yes.

Also, children... I don't like children and used to work in a children's nature museum so I feel your pain. I don't see why it should be your job to look after the child when your job is books-- perhaps you should have a talk with the librarian before you make any decisions akin to quitting...?

No, they're wicked! *flails* Ugh. But thank you. ^_^ That does make it better.

Ah, good. We see eye to dilated eye, then. --See above. >_< *loses*

I knew you'd love it. It's just your sort of thing. What did you think of the extras?

*snugs* Honey, it's okay to explain that you're having trouble with the kid. Just be apologetic about it, and polite, and I'm sure it'll be okay.

*sympathizes on the eyes - hates getting them dilated*

I thought they were lovely. I love it when He sings his own songs. He has such a beautiful way of doing it, and I love his voice, his funny little accent. It was wonderful.

>_< *flaiiiil*

*grumble* It's wretched.

I used to work at a library. They fired me because I kept sitting down and reading the books I was supposed to be putting away. *blush*

...It's a good thing they don't mind that here, because I always do that. Only I stand between the shelves and pretend to be very interested in straightening when anybody looks.
