"But the River Won't Flow For Me, No..."
STEP ONE
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Harry/Cedric icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.
STEP TWO
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
1. Paper parasols. ^_^;; There is nothing I love more than these things, sadly enough.
2. Donations here, please! Is a wonderful organisation and really helps people and such a good thing.
3. For the results of Miss Zara's sleep study to be helpful.
4. For as many people as possible to be happy. <333333
5. ...For more time on all the stories I have to write, please. OhGod. *eyes list woefully*
6. This is where I recognise that there is really nothing in the world I need. I should just fill in the rest of these with love and get-well wishes and general encouragement-prayery-sorts of things. *facepalm* Well, I would like some self-esteem for Christmas, and apart from that--
Happy holidays and love, flist.

#3, I wish as well, so it's a double wish -- and that means it's going to come true, isn't it -- oh, and #4 too, but I've always granted you my portion of that. Be happy yourself. ♥ As for #5, I wish I could tyrannically take over your writing schedule and postpone everything a month or two, but time is rather an awkward thing to be handing out of baskets, as is self-esteem --
-- but self-esteem, you know, drives by on its own, you can't really set a table for two and wait for it to sit down... the important thing is, we love you very much. :D Happy holidays!

Yes! Well, it certainly oought -- and I'm glad, and I thank you, I do--! I'll try, but I'd do it better if you got over to this thread (http://www.livejournal.com/community/desperatefans/654024.html?thread=21893064#t21893064) right this instant-- As for five, well, everybody's being so nice about that, so I think it'll be quite all right --
Self-esteem. I'll manage somehow. I love you so much. Happy Christmas!

...I don't think I've ever actually met you. XD Hi!

No, I don't think we have. HULLO! I'm Soujin!

HI THERE! I'm Marika. Nice to meet you!

What a beautiful name, Miss...! A pleasure, I'm sure.
no subject
Oh, thank you! (Though it's one of those names that's pretty on the hanger but hard to wear.) Likewise.

You're welcome, I assure you! (Is it? It seems like such an elegant one--probably beaded.) And may I enquire which of the clubs you frequent, Miss?
