In other news, my body hates me.
And Orson Welles is ridiculously icky.
(Must write next chapter of Catechism. Is all planned out. But to-morrow is baking day, and also I have Religion = Love group from three to five. Mmm, busy.)

(Am I meeting you folk at the theatre, or at the station? And although we buy our tickets through the Studio Theatre website, the site indicates that R&G is performing at the Mead Theatre as the specific venue. Is that inside the Studio Theatre, or is that somewhere else?)

(You're coming to R&G, right? So we'll probably meet at the theatre. And, um. I. have no idea. I'd assume it was at the Mead Theatre, but I really don't know the area. Possibly

(I'm coming to R&G; how early would you like me at the theatre?
And do you mind awfully if I am on the phone with Zara constantly from the moment I'm about to get off the metro until the moment at which I get to the theatre? Because that way I have someone to tell instantly if I'm in imminent danger of rape/mugging/murder/street musicians.Sorry for all of the questions!)no subject
(Probably half an hour?
^^ That would be fine, I would think. No, no, I'm sorry I'm not more helpful. >_>)no subject
(I can totally do that. That gives me plenty of time to get lost! ^____^)

(Okay, great! )

Also, do feel free to call, if it would make you feel safer. We can pass the phone back and forth
since I am terrified of people.no subject
So am I, heh.It would. I've already determined to wear my purse under my clothes when I am on the streets to reduce the chance of mugging. ^_^;;no subject
That part of P street is perfectly safe, for the record. Use Dupont Circle metro if you're worried - that walk takes you through a nice residential neighbourhood. U Street is on U Street and the area between there and Studio is marginally more sketch. Of course, I walk it alone at night after the show all the time and it's no big deal, but then I've lived in big cities for eight years and prefer to just deal as opposed to never go anywhere. Just walk with a purpose, don't look scared, and if you think you're lost, ask for directions because people in DC are nice. There is no need to be afraid in that part of DC. (that part of DC is full of skinny white girls and gay men - we're not talking ghetto, here.)

Hah. In my dad's time, it was full of street musicians and druggies, but he was there in the 70s. ^_^; I'm not too scared for myself, because everyone who's young and female and familiar with the area has been telling me it's no big deal--but my parents are afraid, because my Dad grew up there, and so I'm trying to listen to their concerns. ^_^;; (And I will be using Dupont Circle--among other things, it's a shorter walk, although it's even better to hear it's through a residential neighborhood!)

The biggest problem with walking to U street (I live on the green line so it's way easier for me to go home that way) is that I have to walk past the jazz club and it's always tempting to stop in for a drink but I never do because I tend to go on Wednesday previews which means I have to get up for work the next day.

Oooh, that does sound a problem. Be strong, madame!
