"The Dress She Wears, Sweet Mama, It's Pink and Blue..."

Had an adventure getting home. Got in to New York Central Station with an hour and ten minutes to the time I thought I should be on my train, and then, because of some strange and inexplicable survival instinct which I will never place or understand, asked a security guard whether my ticket was okay. She directed me to Information, where I was told that my ticket was all wrong and I needed to exchange it, and I should go to Tickets and exchange it for the correct one, and leaving on a train ten minutes earlier than the one I thought I was one. Put me at fifty minutes to train time.

So I went to Tickets and was in line for half an hour, getting highly nervous and chattering at innocent bystanders; I eventually got to a clerk. It was then twenty minutes to train time.

The clerk looked at my ticket and made calculations for ten minutes before determining that I could exchange my ticket, but it would cost upwards of forty dollars, whereupon I burst into hysterical tears because I had no money whatsoever except for a nickle in my pocket.

Ten minutes to train time.

The clerk, who I imagine was really not enjoying his day at that point, told me to go to Customer Service, where I proceeded to cry hysterically on the clerk there while saying 'I want to go home, I want to go home'. She finally calmed me down enough to figure out what it was I needed, and immediately summoned another clerk, explained the situation, and got my ticket stamped with a red stamp that made it okay to use. They both informed me that I did not have to pay anything extra and shooed me off towards my gate.

Two minutes to train time.

I ran through Central Station with my altogether too much luggage, still crying, and got to my gate, down the stairs, and onto the train just as it left.

I never want to go anywhere ever again.

(But it was the most beautiful time I have ever spent with anybody, I don't know how to say it. I didn't want ever to go home when I was there.)

Aaagh. Why can't anything ever go off without a hitch?

*huggles you*

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2007-08-02 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
Well, you know. I'm sure people with half a brain could have handled that without the complete and utter panic attack. >_>

*loveson*

Train stations are the most intimidating things in the history of the world. Hello, lovely!

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2007-08-02 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
The one at Boston wasn't! It was a nice, normal size, with only one floor--! --Hello. ♥

[identity profile] josiana.livejournal.com 2007-08-02 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
Ack, poor thing. D: I'm glad you didn't get stuck there, though.

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2007-08-02 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
So am I! O_O I can think of nothing more terrifying.

[identity profile] josiana.livejournal.com 2007-08-02 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
Well, it could've been a combination train station and airport. That probably would've made it worse.

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2007-08-02 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, I'll be under the bed.

[identity profile] josiana.livejournal.com 2007-08-02 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
Butbutbut nooo. ;___; Well, you can if you like, but...;____;

*pets* Well, if nothing else, you could have called your parents for a credit card number.

Happy fun tiems with teh Manon? :D I am glad you did not get lost in New York either time. Your parents left me phone messages when you were on your way to Boston, but I did not get them in time and then felt bad.

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2007-08-02 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
I could have...! When I stopped panicking. I think I actually lost track of where I was and almost called you. >_>

Yes! V.v.v. much! And yes, that was my fault because I forgot to call them. I am sorry! You should not have felt bad. <333 That was Soujin being an idjit.

[identity profile] silverdragon262.livejournal.com 2007-08-02 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
Well, you could have! For monies or otherwise.

Yay! And don't worry. XD Am just glad there was no trouble. No aliens or space-time rifts or anything of the sort.

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2007-08-02 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
<333333 Luckily it all came out right. Even despite the scary drunk man on the train. ^^;;

Not THIS TIME. >:D

Welcome back! I'm sorry that all that had to be so difficult, but I'm sure your time with [livejournal.com profile] mhari was absolutely lovely. I spent an afternoon with her a few weeks ago, and that was absolutely lovely as well. :)

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2007-08-02 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you! It really was, it was magnificent. She is the best Manon that ever was.

*cliiiiiiiiings* I'm terrified of public transport for exactly that reason.

Train stations are crazy, and running to catch one is always freaking. No one can calmly run to catch a train.

But I'm glad your trip was lovely!

[identity profile] rainbowjehan.livejournal.com 2007-08-03 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
That is so true. Zomg eeek.

Thank you! I had a most amazing and blissful time. ^___^

*CLINGSTO* I'm so glad your time with Manon was wonderful, however traumatic it was to get back from there! *snugglesclose* (Good to have you back, too. ^__^)
