Have been insomniac all week--ended up taking a snow walk at three in the morning last night because after a SLEEPING PILL I was still wide awake, which is really kind of sad. Suspect sympathetic psychosomatic condition relating to
mhari's being so exhausted this month. Intend to protest.
Pine for all of you. Plz call and relieve me of my utter isolated isolation. Spent to-day cleaning entire house and vacuuming as well as sponging out the refrigerator; did schoolwork; read a book; listened to six CDs. Am pathetic also bored but generally in a very good frame of mind and laughing a great deal.
Sledded all the way down the hill across the road and halfway up the next hill, yesterday. Practically a religious experience. Beautiful.

The winters here are just awful--dark and chill and wet. They have a word for it--"dreich." (actually, "flist" is also a scottish word describing a mixture of fog and mist)

(So I shouldn't mentioned we'd accumulated about two feet all told so far this year.)
