"Back to Where We Came From..."
I swear, for those of you who have noted my absence online and elsewhere, that this is the last night (at least for this particular bloc of time). I will have this paper done to-night, so help me God, and then I will return to the world of the living.
On that note, can I ask
skaryma and
mhari to beta-read the Thing once it's done? It's about Arthurian legend with an emphasis on Mordred, so I think you guys are the best choices. <333 I would be eternally grateful.
On a completely different note, here are several actual untouched conversations that occurred in my religion class over the last week:
Professor Braxton: ...and monkeys are very humanoid! They even make some of the same noises we do! For example, you-- (he points to a boy sitting behind Soujin) --warn a monkey over there of danger!
Student: ...No.
Braxton: Come on! Make the noise!
Soujin: "Ooh ooh ooh"?
Braxton: Yes! Exactly! Now you do it!
Student: ...No.
Braxton: Come on!
Student: My inner monkey doesn't want to come out.
Braxton: That's because you've been spanking it too much.
Braxton: So the Dragon Prince accidentally sets fire to his father's palace and burns some of the Pearls of Wisdom. Now that's actually a metaphor, what is fire a metaphor for? Usually?
Paul: Lust.
Braxton: Exactly! Setting fire to the palace is a metaphor for lust.
Soujin: ...Does that mean that burning the pearls is a metaphor for STDs?
Braxton: Yes.
Braxton: (observing that Soujin has brought a plush dinosaur into the class) Why? What's his name, Snuggles?
Soujin: Actually, it's Braxton.
Braxton: I don't think I am at all comfortable with you cuddling and hugging and sleeping with something named after me.
Soujin: You don't know it's named after you. It could be named after your wife.
Braxton: Don't bring it in again.
I love this school.
On that note, can I ask
