"We'll Cover Our Heads and Drink Heavily Into the Night..."
We have a chick! Its mama hatched it out this morning! Which was unbelievably stupid and it had to be rescued, but that's okay.
We named it Jol, because it's a Christmas chick. It is living in a box on the counter and we set the heat lamp up, but it gets lonely easy so Maria put a glove in with it and it is in love with said glove. It also loves Aunt Jeanie and will perch on her finger without getting scared.
Wonderful surprise. ^_^ Its mama was one of the aracaunas, because it has little cheek muffs. Cutest thing ever.

I want to raise chickens, but I dont' know what I'd do with the boys (roosters?) because I don't eat meat.

Roosters. If there's just one, that's fine, but if you have more than that you pretty much have to eat them. They either bloody each other up bad or rape the hens until they have no feathers left, so you can't have more than one.
