"Do Not Sorrow For Me So..."
Got sent home early to-day because I'm useless.
Now I can't stop crying over the CMO DNR pt. She's been refused.
Geriatric Ward
dying women have cold bruised feet
and edema in their calves;
dying women forget to eat
and cover their sores with salves.
dying women have thin thin hair;
they swear they're tough or they cry.
they have only hospital gowns to wear
but they'll dress up when they die.
dying women forget your name
but remember the brother who died at five;
dying women are all the same
but they teach you this while they're alive:
no matter how angry or ugly or ancient
there's no greater love than to love your patient.

Also, your poem reminds me of a couple Jacques Brel songs. Lovely. <3

Also, I <3 the pseudosonnet and agree with the last line.
Here is a big hug, and a sunrise. The one you get now, the other you get in a few hours because overnight shipping can only do so much. <3.
