Siddig is one of those amazing people who were burning hot young and are getting more and more attractive as the years go on. I cannot get over how good he looks with a greying beard. He has the most beautiful eyes in the world. And smile. And I like his voice a lot too, which is my Thing about people.

That said, I am having to pretend that moustache never existed.

Oh, yes, absolutely! That moustache makes him look like a used-car salesman. But bearded-Sid... or scruffy-Sid... *sigh*. Even clean-cut young Sid. He's amazing. But that moustache.... *shudder.*

Soft, full beard in A Dangerous Man is to die for. But I second that comment, that he's one of the few people who looks as good now as he did mumbledy-mum years ago. My only complaint about Cairo Time is how polite and reserved it all was. Where was my totally steamy lover-Sid scene? (hope that's not a spoiler..)

Well, I'm a total Sid-addict. He's an amazing actor, totally under-rated, who's just grown in his craft so much. Plus, he's just so gorgeous, isn't he? Too bad, so many of his roles are so small.

I loved him in DS9 and in 24 and Syriana and Spooks and Cairo Time... well, in everything, really. At least in "Cairo Time" he was the co-star and we got all that great screen-time. And, if you read any interviews with him, he comes across so warm and real and self-deprecating and funny, and really quite intellectual, too. He did a very thoughtful piece on typecasting and Arab roles post-9-11, etc.

I met him at the ST Con in Vegas in 2009. Did the DS9 lunch; actually got to chat with him. He was as nice as he seems. Got some photos from the Con on my flickr. Take a look:
