I do not like little children. Elderly adults, yes. Adore them.
Cannot stand the children.
They run around, are increasingly annoying, drive me insane, and right before they go, they give me a warm, sticky little-kid hug of gratitude... and I realise I am a hardened cynic, and I still can't stand them. Bleh.
The hay supplier came to-day to load the barn. This is normally a huge deal, and when I was little, I couldn't wait and I loved to watch. This time, not so. The supplier brought along her five year old.
So Waen suddenly realised there was a desperately important project she needed to complete, and Mum had to oversee the loading with da', and thus the watching of the child fell to Soujin. The child wished to look in every single room of the house. She wished to pick up the kitty. Unfortunately, the kitty does not like strangers mrow hiss claw attack!! and thus the child was thwarted. So the child wanted to see the other kitty. Oddly enough, the other kitty was missing. So we searched over ten acres for her. Just as the child had to go, the kitty sauntered through the door. She, too, attacked the child.
Soujin's Mum offered the child some cookies. Unfortunately, in Soujin's house, all cookies are kept in the freezer due to there being no AC. The child declared loudly, "These cookies are stale!" and tossed them in the trash. She did not like blueberries, raspberries, or gooseberries. She asked for one of Soujin's precious red jellybeans, of which there are only five, but she did not like this and so spit it out. She climbed on Soujin's bed and announced that she had more stuffed animals than did the Soujin.
She stormed Waen's room, too, but Waen's bed is covered with dead flies, and she went out again very quickly. She attacked the piano and wanted to go into the attic, but was discouraged because the floor is not sturdy up there. She also wanted to into the basement, but Soujin informed her there were snakes in the basement. This is not strictly true.
By the time her mother told her it was time to go, the Soujin was feeling much put upon. Mum and Waen owe me.
On the plus side, owing me might mean getting to go to Barnes & Noble.
