We went shopping to-day! We went to my favourite thrift shop, and I played expert with the scarves until I found one I liked. It's dark blue gauze with a pattern of dark blue satin flowers all over it. (Best of all, it was $5.60!) It was intended, as are all my scarves, to be worn 'round the head, but I may give in and wear it as a neckerchief, because it feels so lovely I can't bear not to be able to feel it.

I also got two shirts in the usual pale colours (I don't believe I've mentioned this before, but I rarely wear anything colourful. The majority of all my clothes are white, grey, or washed-out blue, and the occasional black).

But! Contrary to my fashion, I also bought a humongous crinkly deep crimson shirt. Why? Because it has the sort of sleeves I've been searching for for several years. They're wide and puffy and button at the cuffs (I like cufflinks, but that is quite all right). Yes, it is that elusive faux-19th century sleeve style, and I love it.

As well as the gorgeous sleeves, however, I now have a shirt that is at very least six sizes too large, goes down to my knees, and is the most incredibly shocking shade of dark red I've ever seen. For uncolourful me, this is a bit radical. But I shall wear it none-the-less, because I am fond of it.

Then we went to Borders, and I purchased the fifth and sixth Pet Shop of Horrors manga. O, such a guilty pleasure. Such a pretty guilty pleasure. Love Chris. Love D. Want to smack Leon upside the head. Love T-chan.

I used to hate shopping with all my heart and soul, but now I find it rather relaxing. Particularly when it's shopping in badly-lit thrift shops that have Britney Spears on the radio, a much saner temperature than the one outside, and beautiful, really random clothing and scarves.

Borders is cool too, of course. :)

!!!

Joi (and probably Siggi) conspired to send us a CD of Icelandic folk songs. I am sorry to say I thought Siggi and Jenny were singing them, at first. Unfortunately, this was not true.

(Siggi, Joi, Jenny, Jon, Ollie, and other assorted family members have an Icelandic chorus and I know I've heard them sing all the songs on this CD, so perhaps I may be pardoned.)

Anyway, it has "Ridem, Ridem Og Rekum Yfir Sandinn" on it, and I am attempting to learn that song. Waen wants me to sing it on Campfire Night when we go to Blue Mountain Lake. I know the first line, which is also the title. :) And I know the second verse starts with Thei thei thei thei thoult something.

Pitiful, really, but I hope to get it soon. *loves on teh song*

BWAH. HA. HA.

Look at the reviews I'm getting for Whisper Words. *laughs* I have everyone so confused, yes I do yes I do.

Ahem. In case you actually want to know who Jekyll is talking to, it's either Mina, Nemo, or Dorian. I base this on the fact that whoever it is has an embroidered handkerchief.

*cackles*

Also, am still working on Nemo/Pellew of DOOM, but [livejournal.com profile] gileonnen has offered to beta the Nemo part and [livejournal.com profile] petronelle may or may not do the Pellew part. So all, hopefully, is well.

Waen's birthday list is as follows:

Nemo/Pellew

Ned Land/Conseil

Nemo/Quatermain

Sir Andrew/OC
