Waen finished my scarf! It is long and tawny and purple and so incredibly soft and I love it so much and feel very much better yay! *huggles scarf* It's even better than my Mina scarf, almost, because I won't trip over it when I walk and also it is much softer. And won't itch me the way wool does. *loves on so very much yay!*

This is a wonderful, wonderful thing.

Mail program is thwarting me horrendously... It wouldn't work for me at all this week until just now, when Mum asked me to show her what was wrong, and then voila, c'est parfait. *fumes*

On the plus side, Orlando came to-day and I'm already underlining my favourite passages; I got Granite and Rainbow at the library; and also a copy of two (count 'em) TWO Jekyll&Hyde movies, both of which look equally horrific, and one of which has Ingrid Bergman in it, and one of which is, according to the back "Freudian". *glows* I am really looking forward to this.

Jekyll&Hyde is my obsession and I feed it accordingly. Please, Elphaba, try to understand.

Also, the boy who was stealing my job at the library is gone. *gloats quietly* So it is me, me, who gets to work the desk again, despite that being against library rules. Also, Marjorie is resigning.

This is kind of a problem, since she's head librarian and head of the board of directors for the library, but it's also good, as she doesn't like us and Mary-Jane doesn't like her. But again, it is a problem, as now there is no head librarian, and Mary-Jane doesn't want the post. We're kind of hoping Jeanie will take it, since she does most of the head librarian things already anyway. Besides, she's very patient with us.

Anyway, I finished beta-reading the fic I took on, so I have finally got no excuse not to finish writing all my half-written fics, and I'll be getting to that.

Last night, Waen laughed and said she'd tolerate Wicked so long as it hadn't been written by the bloke who wrote Pippin. *chokes* Um. Right. Last night I checked the name on Children of Eden with that on Wicked, and yes, he is the same person. And I am doomed if she finds out.

Jekyll&Hyde 1941 was the best thing ever. XD

But why in bloody hell can't anyone ever get Lanyon's name right? It's Hastie. It's an adorable name. He's not Richard; he's not John; he's Hastie! Mmph.

Also, this movie made John and Hastie into one person, conveniently named John Lanyon. Luckily, he was not wearing eye shadow, the way the other Lanyon was. He was actually kind of adorable. I grew very fond of him. Beatrix (Henry's fiancee du jour) should so have gone for him in the first place.

Oh, but this is definitely the movie that Alan Moore saw. Because Hyde actually makes Ivy (Henry's prostitute du jour) sing You Should See Me Dance the Polka for him, a lot, which makes her have hysterics, a lot. Actually, not just that, but a lot of things are the same--the psycho torturing methods used by Hyde; the transforming whenever someone irritates him; the methods of transformation, even. Clearly, Mr. Moore read the book, but it seems pretty clear he watched this movie too.

Oh dear God, Poole was so annoying! He was not a good butler. Merwin Bunter is a good butler. Poole was not. He was too intrusive, had too many opinions, talked too much, and never knew what was going on. All v. bad. Mmph. Lanyon's butler was so much better.

Also, the rabbit/rat scene in the beginning? Utterly priceless. Nothing will ever match that, ever.

Jekyll was the only person in the movie without an English accent, saving Ivy, who was French. He was American. It was truly torturous at times. He was also incredibly stupid at times, so that I found myself fuming at him helplessly. But that is unavoidable. Book!Jekyll was infuriating too, at times.

The girl who was Marcia (Henry's prostitute's best friend du jour) was so incredibly cute. I want to find other movies she's in.

All in all, am delighted.

And I still have the 1932 version for to-morrow! *squees* I can't wait! But Waen won't let me watch it to-night, because she wants to see Laurence of Arabia. Ah well. I can deal with that.

*squees a little more and takes "John" Lanyon and loves him to death*
