Incidentally, it's Shrove Tuesday.

"It's a Hard Life, to be True Lovers Together..."

Ahem. It's Shrove Tuesday, and I've just got home from mixing seven batches of pancakes and serving pancakes, sausage, sherbet and cake to seventy or more people. ^___________^ I've got pancake batter all over my clothes, and I am more happy than I have words for. Daphne decided it would be a lovely idea for our Shrove Tuesday celebrations at church if we bussed in people from the nursing homes around Newport and invited them to our pancake supper. Tony did magic tricks, and Waen and I blew up a million balloons (even some big, fat, perfect red ones!), and Bill's wife (whose name I've forgotten, since I'm an idiot) brought in glitter and confetti and glitter glue and beads and pipe cleaners and feathers and sequins and all sorts of thing to make Mardi Gras masks. It was all lovely.

Also, on the way home, I bought a potted hyacinth for Kathryn at work, because I adore her and wanted to bring her something pretty to make her smile.

And now, as I've mentioned before, it's Shrove Tuesday, and Soujin is throwing a pancake supper on her LJ, too. They're homemade pancakes, with organic buttermilk from Waen's coffee shop. See? ^____^



Or you can have them in shapes; that's pretty, too.

And there's sausage, if you'd like that, and of course anything you'd like to drink, and king's cake for dessert; and you can have balloons, lots of balloons! ^___^

Oh, ( and Soujin's dressed up, so you should ought to too! )
