"Good-bye, my Lover, Good-bye..."
Jul. 3rd, 2006 04:17 pmAy-yi-yi. I feel so sick to-day. ^^;;;; I was afraid I'd have to leave work because I kept feeling as though I'd throw up, and doubling over and having to sit down because my stomach hurt so much; but I managed!
And I'm so glad I did. I went in to see Charlie (the other Charlie, not my wonderful silly Charlie whom Zara and Lillie have met), and I tried to get him to wake up and look at me, but he wasn't focusing at all, he just kept closing his eyes and couldn't answer anything I said to him, so I started singing. And when I was halfway through he opened his eyes, and when I was finished he took my hand and said, "Thank you so much," which is reeally difficult for him, anyway, because he can't talk easily, and it was just so wonderful.
Don told me all about when he was in the Navy, and lots of TMI about the parasites in his shoulder, poor man; and Rheba made sad faces at me because I told her she had five letters and then it turned out to be only four; and Samuel talked me, actually talked to me!; and Linda did too, not Linda my employer but Linda one of my people, we talked and she said she felt like a bad mother for being in here and not with her children, and I said no, no, because she's getting better so she can be with her children again.
And I saw Irma and she did not threaten me. Much. ...Aaaaaaand Dorothy and Diana and Katy and Kathy and Helen and Joyce and Harry and Tyrone, and I love, love, love my people...! I love them.
And now I am going to lie down, though, and see whether I can't feel any better. I took some aspirin, and some of the pain has gone away, and I'm certainly not as lightheaded any more, so I'm hoping I'll be all right.
