I AM DED FROM PERFECT PERIPHRASTIC.
THAT IS SO ALL.
Actually, the ablative absolute isn't helping either.
Also, can anyone who speaks Latin better than I do explain what the meaning of "quidquid decendum est, libere dicam" is? Because--we've been trying to figure it out for goodness knows how long. The eventual decision was that it must be something along the lines of 'everything that is spoken must be spoken freely', but that doesn't make any sense because decendum est is the perfect periphrastic and libere dicam is the ablative absolute, isn't it? Because it's 'dico' in the ablative form. But--see what I mean?
I told Mum we'll probably discover that it means something like 'since there's lingerie around, everyone should wear it'.
But come on. 'decendum est, libere dicam'? Tilly, please save me.
