[livejournal.com profile] lillieoz! I finally saw Hunchback II! It was just as completely cracked-out and bad as we'd hoped; I only wish you had been there. The archvillain type wore lipstick and a corset and was exceedingly disturbing, and was also trying to steal one of the bells of Notre-Dame, which rather made Soujin gabble and squeak,--

"But--but--a bell?"

Surely Cathedrals have much better treasures that bells. Also, 'twas absurd that anyone could ever have gotten Quasimodo out of Notre-Dame for the purpose of taking one of his beloved bells. He wouldn't. Ever.

The girl was very adorable, though. Her design was quite nice.

You know, it really rather bothers me that the Disney designs have gotten so smooth recently. They used to look drawn and sketchy sometimes, and now they look so fluid and computer-generated, and I liked the better before. I think the animation was best when they first began to do it. Buh. At any rate, Madellaine (with two lls) was sweet, even despite that.

O_o I never realised the old gargoyle was female. I am rather pleased, but quite surprised.

But it says something about the overall characterisation that by the end my favourite character was Phoebus. I mean, really. Phoebus. He was the only sensible one at all, and had some fairly good lines.

The songs were disappointing. *pulls faces* The ones from the first film were much better.

I'm a little surprised I've managed to ramble about this. In any event, now I want to purify myself again by writing Esmeralda/Fleur-de-lys or Gringoire/Frollo or something.

The tree outside my window is blooming! It's terribly pretty.
