Eddy only went to look in idly, for no reason except that he likes to browse through shops without buying anything. He is one of those innocent young men who enjoys looking and exasperating the shop-keepers. At the moment, he is looking at a rack of dresses with his hands in his pockets, not even thinking of Rosa, not really thinking of anything. Suddenly a pair of unsatisfied eyes fixes him from over the chiffon sleeves and silk collars. "Buy or stop looking." Eddy grins and meets them. "But it's such splendid stuff to look at." There is a long, long pause, and then she snaps, "Thanks. Now get out."
