Laura cannot believe this happened, what even, and then she and St. George have a gigantic fight over who is going to take care of this child (because they both want to--and each, not unreasonably, does not really trust the other to be a good parent). They end up compromising when St. George promises to pay child support and visit ALL THE TIME. As a result, Maggie lives in the bakery in Manhattan with her mother. Frankly, she could subsist solely on tricolour cookies and nothing else.
ii. She loves hearing stories about England from St. George.
iii. Having two parents with PTSD is very interesting. Maggie is a very, very quiet child, having learned that making loud noises usually ends badly. She's also very sensitive to sudden light changes, and she never makes any sudden moves.
