Woohoo, another CATS fan! CATS is the show that turned me into a Broadway fanatic - it also led directly to my Les Mis obsession when I learned that the Rum Tum Tugger was also Javert. *g* What's the Japanese recording like? I've never heard that one.

*giggle* Is it sad that CATS is the show of which I've heard the most (legal) recordings? At one stage, I owned London, Australian and Japanese. Australian didn't really endear itself to me as much as the others, and of course Japanese gets points for being Japanese. *g*

Heh... I have Broadway, London, Australian, French, German, and Hungarian. And the video. (I go a little overboard in my obsessions *g*) The Broadway recording is my favorite one in English, and I think the French is my favorite, period. I only have the highlights of the German and Hungarian (didn't buy those, a friend copied her tapes for me). I love the Hungarian, just because the language sounds so cool.

CATS works so well in Japanese, because it tends to be cutesy even in English, so at least in Japanese cutesy is expected. And the Japanese voice works well for the cats.

Yup! Terrence Mann, Original Broadway Everything. And the images aren't just mental - at home I have CATS: The Book of the Musical, which has pictures of Terrence Mann as Tugger. Or, Javert in spandex. *laughs evilly*
