Pick five, or ten, or more, of your fic titles. List them in your journal and explain how you came up with each one. Post this promptly as well, so that the meme spreads.

I like this meme already. Because I am an egotistical thing. Gacked from [livejournal.com profile] jean_prouvaire.

1. "Voir"

This is, of course, the title of Nicolas Enjolras' long fic. Voir is French for 'to see', as I'm sure everyone knows, and because Nikki is blind, it seemed suitable.

2. "Quai Razio Serna"

The title is Aarian for "I Always Watch". I tried it in Latin (in Latin it's Semper Video, which I think icky.) and French, but it didn't sound good, so I finally settled for Quai Razio Serna. It's a fic for The Outsiders, and slash, typically. Johnny is watching Ponyboy.

3. "The Passing of the Grey Company"

Les Miserables-fic, for Enjolras and Grantaire. It was heavily inspired by watching The Return of the King, so I searched through the book till I found a chapter with a name I liked. They're dying; they're passing. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

4. "Nothing in His Life"

Bahorel fic. The title is a line from Macbeth. The full line goes, "Nothing in his life became him like the leaving of it". It's Bahorel death-fic, and he muses on things while drawing parallels from Macbeth. Eventually, it evolved into the much longer fic "Chronology".

5. "A Fine Chaos"

I remember it well... *nostalgic sigh* Courfeyrac/Combeferre/Feuilly, written for [livejournal.com profile] ladybretagne. Well--their relationship is entirely too chaotic, between Feuilly spilling things and Courfeyrac forgetting his shirts places, and Combeferre trying to preside over things sensibly. A Fine Chaos seemed like something Courfeyrac would call it.

6. "The Jest"

A little Hornblower ficlet. Archie tells Horatio things he is disinclined to believe, and even at the end, Horatio thinks it a jest. And it's angsty.

7. "Boy"

My first Crime and Punishment fic. Raskolnikov's sock is in love with him, and generally waxes pathetic. She (for it is a she) also doesn't know his name, and insists on calling him Boy.

8. "E Pluribus Unum"

Latin for "Out of Many, One". Yes, it's on the US quarter. This was a Cosette-fic I wrote for Waen, in which she muses on students in general. The title pertains to the fact that she's enamoured of the idea of all the students, but eventually ends up with only one of them, her one twu wuv etc. etc. Should like to stress that this is a good thing. *hugs Cosette* We love her.

9. "I Had as Lief Have Been Myself Alone"

Archie Kennedy fic. He is depressed, and Wellard hangs around, which simultaneously upsets and perhaps pleases him. I am sure, however, he would have been much happier had Wellard not manifested. The quote is from King Lear, I believe. I am not completely sure at this point.

10. "The Feeling of Being Edward Hyde" and "It's How You Say It"

Companion fics. Perhaps the titles speak for themselves... In the first, Hyde talks about how pretty he is. And then he goes out and is icky and Hyde. In the second, he digresses on how to manipulate using only one's voice, and generally goes on about liking the fact that he can manifest physically. Okay, the titles are pretty self-explanatory.

And manifest may well be the word of the day...

There is a new little figurine on my keyboard. It's a purple kitten with green eyes.
