Yargh. I'm still alive.
Stayed shut up in my room reading 20,000 Leagues until five-thirty. Aronnax is so squushy! Conseil is silly and dear, and Ned Land is---really wicked. He's all dignified but short-tempered and magicking wicked. And I like Nemo, too. But I'm afraid that's far more due to my mental image of James Mason. *is dreadful* Also, it's full of typographical errors, every-bloody-where.
"Might fell" has to be one of the best. Mum says there was one that made her and Waen simply shriek with laughter. :) I'm looking forward to it with as much anticipation as I am to Aronnax saying 'it cost fifty-thousand sharks--I mean francs!'
Best quotes as of yet: "He [Nemo] is a rogue!"
"But where is he from?"
"The Land of Rogues!"
"My dear Ned, that is not on the map."
And
"My two companions still lay stretched out in the corner, two inert masses."
Lovely book.
