psalm_onethirtyone: (Secret Garden)
*dies*

The first day of school is cancelled--and, indeed, school is cancelled until Tuesday--on account of too many last-minute harvests to put up. We're doing corn again to-day, and Da's harvesting and roasting the over-dried tomatoes, and the peaches and raspberries simply will not stop! So we are to be quite busy instead.

The Granny Smith and Red Delicious apples will be ready soon, and Waen says the Asian pears are ripening. Of course we dug all the potatoes, but there are still some beans left to pick.

...And the corn is still going strong.

It's the rain. It wouldn't go so well without the rain. I feel rather distinctly guilty.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] erinpuff, how did you manage to fit so much music onto two CDs? Eeeewow. ^____^ Am going to play them now!

ZARA IN TWO WEEKS (almost). EEEEEEEEEEEE.

Daddy and I put up two gallons of corn to-day, the last of the Silver Princess. Now it's the double kind left. We were quite lucky, I think--I only found one ear with smut on it, and the rest was only attacked by weevils, and they're easy to get out. You can cut them out, pick them out, break the corn, or boil them out, so it's really no trouble.

I'd forgotten how much in love with Poirot I am; but I never used to like Hastings. I like Hastings, too, now.

I also love Kolya Krasotkin. Eeee. Ici, Perezvon! ^_______^

...Sorry. Sorry. Shall be good now. Shall go away and say nothing and read my Poirot and be good and quiet and--

Oh, dear, Saturday is so awfully far away. I realio trulio wish it would come, I do.

In addition, I feel an utter fool.

Bah.
