"But That Ain't Getting us No Where..."
Jan. 16th, 2006 06:33 pmI had the most wonderful day to-day. At work.
First of all, I have a new supervisor! ^______^ She's a temporary, since she's going to be a CN at the end of two weeks, but she's really nice (and incredibly gorgeous) and she has authority over me and authority in general and I am no longer alone and eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. ^__________^ This is so great.
Secondly, I got to spend time with so many of my people to-day!
Anna is doing lots better from last week, and we talked for a long time. I got to meet Bertha properly, and she's very nice, too. Bertha S. is going to go home soon, she said, which is wonderful. Charlie is doing well.
Ken said every time I come in to see him he looks for a wedding ring on my finger, and I told him I was too young to be married. He asked me how old I was and I said and he said he married his wife at my age. And I said, well, that was all very well for her, but I had yet to meet anyone as lovely as he is, so I'm not getting married quite yet. ^_^
And I went in and saw Donald for a bit, and Pat, and Florence seemed all right to-day.
And I finally learnt the name of the gentleman who walks up and down the halls all day. I've been rather nervous of him, and I never knew his name (so when I document, I just put him down as The gentleman who walks up and down the halls all day, which I imagine does not make Linda happy), so I finally asked to-day. ^_____^ It's Melvyn. And we had a long conversation after that, and he's very nice, if somewhat taciturn. But I like him.
And, and, I saw Marcie to-day, and Jennie is doing okay, I think, which is good, because she's been so sad lately. And I rescued Daniel from Alberta, who was shouting at him, and managed to placate her, too. And I saw Eleanor! I think she's not doing so well, but I plan to visit her properly one of these days and talk to her.
And Bobby was crying in a corner of the Nurses' Circle curled up in his wheelchair, so I went over and hugged him and smiled at him and tickled him a little until he smiled. I think it's because Crystal didn't come in to-day; Crystal is his lady who works with him, and I think I heard someone say she was off for Martin Luther King Day, so perhaps he was lonely.
Let's see, what else. Michelle showed me her new office! ^__^ Michelle is the lady from Social Services who Linda's told me not to help because she and Linda don't get along, who I help anyway secretly. Her new office is very nice. It has pretty papering, and lots of plants.
And I saw Curtis, and rescued Anne's shoe from the dining room where she left it, and said Hello to Dick, and helped Kathy look for her soap, and watered Helen's plants, and avoided Norm again, and I don't know, it was a really, really wonderful day.
I love my people so much. I love them.
