and i'm slightly possessed, because someone on my friendslist wrote this really lovely admissions essay (here) about ophelia who was stuck at home when the boys were in wittenberg studying the liberal arts, drawing rosemary in her eight grade biology notebook ... and it put this idea in my head, of a young horatio giving a young ophelia little lessons out of the books he reads, because it's not like there's many people who are willing to hear about the kinds of stuff he likes to study, anyway, and she's patient and sweet and a good listener, and no one ever tells her anything (a bit like hero, i suppose) ... and when he's off-stage with mad!ophelia, he tries to calm her down reminding her of them, maybe reads something out of a book. it's just an idea. maybe i'll cut out the bit with mad!ophelia and find a way to fit it into that story i'm supposedly working on. *shiftylook*
