This morning at nine-thirty the most emotional church service the Episcopalian Church of Saint Stephen and the Nativity has ever seen began. Mostly everybody cried the whole way through, including the pastor.

He is leaving after thirty years of having been pastor here.

He got a lot of presents, though. :) Everyone attacked him and his wife with some token of esteem or other. Soujin learned the names of half the congregation who she previously had not spoken with, and talked with Padraic about his name, Harry about fanfiction, Alice about the trombone trio that came for this last service, Susan about everything, Waen about The Mysterious Island, and Fran about wahhh why're you going away? *_*

It was a very nice service. We shall regret the loss of our pastor. Particularly since no one will ever use the correct voice inflections again after us hearing Father Bill for thirty years.

They dedicated the new cloister to him with a blown up photograph of him up on the wall. He requested that we all genuflect when we went past it.

I think I shall miss him.

Oh, I'm so sorry. I know how you feel. My priest, who was the sweetest little Irish man ever, died last year. His service was so incredibly sad, and everyone cried through the entire Mass. It was really sweet, though, because all the eulogies were very loving and warm. It's a weird thing to lose a religious leader, I must say.

Now we have this weird Polish pastor, whom nobody can understand because of his intense accent. Gr.

It is weird, but I'm glad it was such a nice service.

*g* We're looking forward to much the same. Honestly, what churchgoers have to go through.
