Third planting of corn came IN like WHOA and then went out quick. We spent to-day boiling, cutting, and packaging it for storage. Close on twenty quarts we got out of it. V. productive. :) Later on in the season we shall do tomatoes, which is also fun, and later this week, perhaps, peaches for storage. Raspberries are drawing to a close; tomatoes are in; potatoes are flaggin' a bit; beans may be ending; corn is over; squash are thriving; pumpkins are ending; Asian pears are still thriving; apples are coming in quickly.

Lost 1.6 pounds this week.

We went to the Amish Market to-day, which is the happy lovely store we've been going to for the produce we don't grow since forever. We bought nectarines, white and yellow peaches (since our crop failed), and chrysanthemums; watermelons and walnuts and peanuts and an African violet for Waen. And also homemade cookies and a bag of gummi bears for Waen. Gummi bears are the only thing the Amish don't grow or make themselves. ^__^

Unfortunately, there were some humongous tour busses there and loads of stupid people flicking cigarette ash in the corn and generally being in the way. I resent tourists. I am deeply sorry, but I do.

On plus side, toe is healing incredibly quickly. The other two times it took forever, and was so painful for about a week or so. This time, I'm already wearing it open without a bandage, and it doesn't hurt to poke it or bump it. It looks horrid, however. :)

Done with Dracula! I love Van Helsing. And also Mina. I love Mina. I want to hug her and keep her and snuggle her and love her. *is besotted. much*

Now I shall start on To the Lighthouse!

I suppose half the tourists have been inspired to visit the Amish after viewing the intellectually stimulating documentary of Amish in the City.

What a.... really unpleasant thought...

You have got to stop saying that sort of thing, you know. It's awfully depressing. ^^

Well, not my all-time favourite book, I guess, but definitely one of my favourites, yes ^_____^

I don't think you have to lose so much weight! >_>; You look so pretty!

Nice. ^_^

Well, I have a little signed doctor's order thingy, and the ideal weight for someone my age and height is, indeed, twenty-five pounds lower that what I am, so... but thank you. ^_^ I'm quite flattered.

Hm, but I still don't think you should lose that much weight ^^; I mean, I didn't have my "ideal weight" when I was your age either. I was way too thin ^^; But no one told me to eat all the time, even though underweight is considered to be quite risky...
Anyway. I'm rambling. ^^

Yes, but being too thin is not the leading cause of death in America. Overweightness/obesity is. So it's really at least half a health concern.

Ah, but I mind not rambling! Ne, ne, ne!

Ergh, yes, tourists! *hates upon* I mean, when you're visiting somehwere else and you're a tourist, you think "I have a perfect right to be here!" but then other tourists annoy you to no end.

Exactly! See, you know everything about the way people feel, really. It's great.

Also! We're going to the Juniata County Fair sometime reasonably soon, and can you come? We could see each other, then, and it would be really fun--it was last year, anyway. Want to?
