All right. Finally, post with actual content. >_>

We are going to England in May. How many of you live in England? [livejournal.com profile] mage_brandebouc for sure, I know, but anyone else? I am absolutely mad dying to get a chance to meet you, since God knows when I'll ever get to go to England again. This is all extremely exciting.

I shall attempt to visit all the places in my geeky literature, of course. *G*

Also, we're going to spend a day in Paris, too, so I am going to try and find the Rue de Les Amis Barricades, whose name I cannot spell and therefore will not embarrass myself attempting. Numerous other places, besides. ^___^

In other news, went to an Author's Tea while at Juniata and got a copy of the girl's book (she's still going to Juniata) and she signed it and gave me her phone number and said if I ever wanted her to look over my book someday... Well, I've begun reading hers, and if I write my book someday, I am not letting her anywhere near it. >_> Why did no one poke this girl repeatedly and teach her punctuation? Whyyyyy? It's driving me mad.

On the bright side, The Underground City is pure, unadulterated beauty, and I am very pleased with it. Huzzah for Jules Verne with characters that one can care about!

Rue de la Chanvrerie? Doesn't exist anymore, I'm sorry ´_`
I've been to Paris twice so far and haven't seen any Les Mis places! >_>;
Have fun! ^____^
*hugs*

It's damn cool to come upon the right area of the rue Rambuteau, though.

Somewhere in the Louvre is a portrait that is absolutely perfect for Marius. A dark haired young man with a rather dreamy expression and aristocratic features. I don't know the boy's name or who painted him, just that I saw him while everyone else was trying to push into the crowd for a glimpse of la Joconde (Mona Lisa). And seeing Liberté guidant le peuple was a religious experience. I just stood there staring, because I found it accidentally, and it is huge and epic and far more beautiful in person than any photograph will have you believe. I had to be pulled away from it.

Oh, and Paris will kill your diet. The bread, the pastries, the wine, everything. Yummy yummy yummy.

Not that I miss Paris, but I would like to go back and spend days and days in the Louvre and Musée d'Orsay. And somebody other there has to have a collection of 19th century Salon painting - I need to see the real things, not just pictures, of what Courbet and later artists were rebelling against. It's research, dammit.

See above. But I am going to make a desperate effort.

Thanks! *glomps*
