psalm_onethirtyoneI love Andy Rooney's column. He's so complain-y, but at least he's honest about his perpetual state of displeasure. *amused*
To-day, he complained about noises (last week it was the election). He doesn't like cell phone rings and he doesn't like doorbells. He says he has a big knocker as well as a doorbell, and he always likes people who use the knocker more than people who use the doorbell.
While I don't feel that strongly about it, I do rather agree. I prefer knockers infinitely over doorbells, because there's so much too them. Celeste's is a big lion's head, and our porch door has a lion's head too, I believe. The downstairs bathroom has two people kissing. Ellen's in a rose.
Someday I shall have a room of my own, or a house of my own, and I shall spend hours looking for the perfect knocker. I shall spend almost as much time on it as I shall spend looking for lightswitch plates, because Tennessee has the loveliest lightswitch plates I've ever seen every year at the July craft fair.
Curtains will be important, too.
