I shall be old enough to vote next election. To-day, I am in denial.
Mum voted early in the morning, and da', because he is a retired lawyer, spent all day at the polls to help out in case there were legal complications. He said they straightened out one problem and answered a couple of crazy mad phone calls, but apart from that, nothing big happened, which was good. He was originally going to provide transportation for people, but it's apparently much easier to find people who can drive than it is to find retired lawyers who don't mind helping out, so he did this instead.
I met a really nice Republican lady on Sunday. It was vaguely weird, because all my childhood, I've been bullied by Republicans (I hate that word, 'bully'...). I didn't go to Penn State camp this year because of last year, when the class was entirely Republican except for me, and they spent all week calling me names and yelling at me and making a pathetic Soujin cry all over the place. So mainly I'm scared of them. But this lady and I just sort of talked about how unfortunate it was that the parties have gotten so awful to each other and how one should still be able to have a friendly political debate without it escalating into shouting and whatnot. It was nice.
But I am in denial about to-day, and all shall be NaNo and Lemony Snicket and Nemo/Ned Land daydreams. :)
Lemony Snicket is, by the way, a Democrat. Evidence?
"'Busheney!' said Sunny, which meant something along the lines of, 'You're an evil man with no concern whatsoever for other people!'."
