OMG.

Bert Rigby, You're a Fool is the best. movie. ever. Robert Lindsay is wasted on the Hornblower series, absolutely wasted. He belongs in something where he gets to sing. He would have been so much better as Erik than that Gerard person was. :P HE WOULD. REALLY.

Of course, I actually got all the references. I am such a dork. ^___^ But since I spent several years worshipping Fred Astaire, I know my old films. And I loved the American in Paris scene, but I think the Singing in the Rain bit was my favourite. It was just absolutely perfect.

Besides which, Robert Lindsay's accent is far better in this than it is as Pellew. Pellew has no accent at all. I'm disappointed in him, for heaven's sake.

Yes, I worship this picture. And I worship the [livejournal.com profile] erinpuff who gave it me. Thank you so much.

The Singing in the Rain bit is my favorite too. ^_^ I'm sure I got way fewer of the references than you did. *bows*

I need to watch it again. I've got a VCR now, but my copy of the movie is at home because I didn't have a VCR when I first came to college.

*grins* I'm vv. glad you liked. :-D

(Here're my incoherent notes from when I watched it, if you care. ^^)

It's just so perfectly like the actual film, really. *dies* Ahaha, worship my geekiness. :)

You do! Send for it! It is yayness of yay!

Oh, I adored. Thank you again. *loveson*

I think I'll have to see that. I know I need to watch more of the Hornblower movies.

PS even someone as tone deaf as myself can tell Gerard Butler can't sing to save his (ridiculously hot) ass. But he's so damn sexy, can one really blame Joel Shumacher & ALW for picking him?

I agree. The Hornblower movies are lovely, and Edward Pellew is wonderful, wonderful man.

*g* Yes, all right, partially conceded. His cravat totally upstaged him, though. Talk about damn sexy.

::has a mental image of Captain Pellew as the Phantom of the Indy:: Hehehe... That ought to keep me amused for the next three or four days at least.
