Mmmboy.

Well, I'm finally ill. :P But not the fun 'lie in bed and get loved' part. Mainly the 'oh shit' and *run for the WC* part.

I am actually somewhat amused by the situation. The poetic justice of it is just beautiful. I've been whingeing about how I so dearly want to get ill for the last couple of months, and now I'm whingeing (with a wicked pleasure, yes, but assuredly still whingeing) about how I want to feel better. Mum has me on a diet of bread and water.

Oooh, and I just love having a Mum who's a nurse. It's so amusing. Because I'll say, 'I'm feeling such-and-such a way', and she'll be all, 'ha ha! I dig into my sooper-handy nursing bag and pull out Product Number ONE! BUT WAIT! You say you have This-More-Specific-Symptom? Why, then, I'll pull out Product Number TWO! And if you need anything else, I have Products THREE THROUGH EIGHT! Merely name your symptoms, and I know exactly what's wrong with you, AND THE CURE!'

And in the meantime, Soujin's sitting there with her mouth open, staring at SuperNurseMum and her sooper-handy nursing bag and filling in with the appropriate oooohs and aaaahs. And taking the Products, because she needs them.

In other news, reading Of Mice and Men. Can already tell that it is going to make me cry. But Tortilla Flat was very good, and I am very in awe of the ending. I think it was Just Right, and very Dignified but awfully Sad.

Working on several fics. The snow was inspiring, but the near unceasing illness is not.

Oh, I hope you like Of Mice and Men! I read it on a train ride to the city once and I really had to hide the fact that I was crying, because I was so embarrassed. *giggles* It's so beautiful and so brilliantly-written. I really hope you like it.

I like it as far as I am! I felt so bad when Carlson shot Candy's dog, though. It made me wibble incredibly. Steinbeck is so brilliant.

Oh, good, I'm not the only one who thought that was horrible. I actually mind more if an animal is hurt in a book than a person. *is silly*

Well, I don't mind animals more than people; rather they're on an equal footing with me; but I felt so bad that they managed to convince him it ought to be shot, and then when he said it ought to have been him, that he oughtn't have let 'some stranger shoot [his] dog'--I just sort of melted into wibble.

My mommy when I'm sick?

Give me a Tylenol, water (if she's in a good mood, chocolate milk), and if I whine too much, Death Glare Version 4.2.

Somehow, it works.

-_- to your Mum, then.

Of course, if it works, who am I to dissuade her?
