Have been ill in bed all day long; not really well now, either. During the interval from 10:30 until 17:00, the times I was most ill and not most conscious, I treadmilled an hour and a half due to exercise-needing-to-be-done-drive, and slept a lot, and drank a lot of water, and ate ten slices of toast (for a total of five points, my sole intake until 18:15, when I devoured a cup and a half of white rice, and a lot of chicken), and did all my schoolwork. I am still tired, and still feel as though I'm going to be not-so-violently ill.

On the positive side, [livejournal.com profile] weaselwoman13 will be pleased to know that in my infinite boredom at being stuck in bed half-conscious for about six and a half hours, I discovered that we have P.G. Wodehouse's Golf Omnibus, and read loads of it. I am now officially madly in love, and I don't even like Gowff. :P

Now to bed, and with any luck will be able to be well enough for acting to-morrow. Already feel guilty about missing library work to-day.

Being ill not so nice as I supposed it to be, mainly because Mum worked all day and Da' knows not how to coddle an ill child and Waen was entirely unsympathetic, and because I still felt very, very, overwhelmingly guilty about not being able to get anything done, which was why I was motivated to treadmill and do my schoolwork. Not pleased about missing writing time and library, though, as I said. I shall feel bad until I am quite up again and able to be useful; I scoured the roasting pan after dinner to-night because I wanted to do something, as well as cleaning the platter on which Thursday's spoiled lamb was cooked by mistake. Smelt revolting, but Soujin must be helpful. >_>

...

Do love P.G. Wodehouse, though...

Based on your recent posts, it seems that your schedule is overwhelming you, causing stress that is causing havoc with your health. Having many goals is commendable, but striving to achieve them all at once will most likely cause burnout at an age when you should not even have that worry!

Hurrayyyyy! I mean, not about you being ill and icky and things, but about P.G. Wodehouse. I haven't read the golf omnibus, but I bet it's very funny. Last two books I read by Plum were The Mating Season and Joy in the Morning, and right no wI'm almost finished with his biography. He sounds like such a sweet person; I wish I could have met him.

Once you've finished with that I'd recommend either books about Bertie Wooster and Jeeves, or books about Lord Emsworth and Blandings Castle. But anything he wrote is excellent, really.

^___^ It is tremendously funny. I love his easy style and the way he narrates and the random sneaky things he puts in that I only realise are jokes about halfway through. It's very pleasing. And from the way he narrates, I am not at all surprised to learn that he was a sweet person; I agree with you.

Okay! I shall seek them out!

Yes, he has such a wonderful way with the English language! And if you read him for a while you get a really good grip on Edwardian slang. I knew you'd like him, looking at your other tastes! :)

It's sort of cute -- in real life, he was extremely sweet and kind but also very timid and withdrawn, and mostly liked books and dogs better than people. So fans would talk to him or have lunch with him and expect one hilarious gag after another, but he'd be really quiet and he'd open his mouth and they'd all lean forward in anticipation but he'd just disappoint them by saying something like "pass the salt." He also had a habit of vanishing unexpectedly to go up to his room and write during parties. My kind of guy...;)
