To-night life seems unfair for existing; all is not very well. I mean to go to bed early, for to-morrow I shall have to face my extended family. *has reunion, gah*
Also, it has occurred to me that I really should get more than five hours of sleep a night, seeing as that has been consistently my sleep schedule for the past week.
At the library, I took out a book of T.S. Eliot, of Edward Lear; Cyrano de Bergerac; I, Claudius; and an Agatha Christie reader; and I put six Oz books on ILL. I went to Curves. I have done everything I ought for to-day except written:
I wrote part of every single story I need to be working on right now: Waen's, Zara's,
shawk's, Nanni's--and plotted for the
gleamswhichpass one--but nothing is coming. I haven't made anything whole out of any of them, and I suspect Zara's and possibly Nanni's will have to be scrapped entirely and rewritten. Am unspeakably frustrated.
There is one beautiful thing: The people at DF like me. *wobbles* They like me. It's so--but nice.
Another thing!
tiamatschild, Pencroff has found on something he thinks it very important that you know about. We shall try to contact you as soon as possible. Also, N. received A.'s letter. He is being slightly secretive, but I think he is very, very glad--he is glad, too, that A. mentioned nothing from his last letter. Thank you to both of you!

Date: 2005-06-18 05:10 am (UTC)And whoa, Canyon de Chelly! *sets as desktop wallpaper*
(Also, Scariest Twelfth Night Thing I Have Ever Seen. Seriously. My God.
No, I didn't scour Google looking for a cast recording and then, finding evidence of it's being recorded and sold somewhere but nowhere to buy it online, e-mail the theatre company and ask if I could buy it! Why do you ask?)(no subject)
Date: 2005-06-18 12:51 pm (UTC)I'm surprised it isn't French. :o If it were French I would just go "Oh, ridiculous French musical, nothing new..." but it ISN'T.
Anyway, yay! for TMI! Wonderful translation.

Date: 2005-06-18 04:50 pm (UTC)And I can buy the CD. Oh dear.I'd started reading the Kingston translation and then Soujin told me it was very very bad, and then she told me that the Stump translation was the best. So glad I found it!

Date: 2005-06-19 10:49 pm (UTC)Isn't it amazing? I have picture from the way down, too, on horseback. *O_O flattered liek whoa!*
(O. M. G. W. T. F. *pause*
Ohhh, I want it so bad.Wow.*giggles* Ohhh, you. You're amazing.(no subject)
Date: 2005-06-20 01:35 am (UTC)So amazing! Do we get to see the horseback picture? *g*
(I think the worst part is, it made me try to picture myself as Olivia-as-Madonna. And my brain went KABOOM! But I can so see my Orsino as Elvis. It makes me giggle terribly, as he's so dignified and such, but I can so see it.
I'm so buying it. And then I will so post the songs. Because, as the Shaggy Man says, in reference to bad music, "A little misery, at times, makes one appreciate happiness more."...okay, why did I just now get what's really funny about Olivia being Madonna? I wonder if they kept those Feste lines in... *g*)

Ahaha. You WIN at LIFE.^_____________________________^ I hope so.)

Date: 2005-06-18 05:06 pm (UTC):D Pencroff's so sweet. And I'm glad N. liked A.'s letter. A. had the distinct feeling he shouldn't address any of it directly, no matter how much he wanted to, so he tried coming at it in a round about way - I think he was probably way too subtle, but he was trying. *snuggles*
And of course the people at DF like you. You're an utter sweetheart. *snugs*
(Also, yes. Sleep is good. More than five hours is good. *pokes you*)
(no subject)
Date: 2005-06-19 10:56 pm (UTC)He's going all gruff and embarrassed again. *giggles* Er, yes, that was quite astute of him, but he was a little subtle. Nevertheless, N. was practically pleased with him, very pleased. It was good.
*flails* But it's always so bizarre to find out that they do! I don't--oh, never mind. *hugs fondly*
(Time! There's no time!)
(no subject)
Date: 2005-06-20 02:52 am (UTC)*grins at him* *laughs* That's what I told him! You're being too subtle, I said. Take it from someone who knows when subtle is too subtle, I said, this is too subtle. But he ignored me. :) We're both quite glad N. was pleased.
*hugs* I do understand, honey. I often feel just the same way.
(*pokes* You will work better and faster if you're not so tired...)
(no subject)
Date: 2005-06-20 03:17 am (UTC)*helpless* Oh, dear. Well, there's no reasoning with them when they decide to write a letter in a certain way, is there? O_O
Right, N.?^__^Oh, good--of course that you understand, not that you feel the same way. That you feel the same way I must reproach you by telling you how impossibly wonderful you are and how ridiculous it is that somebody might not like you.
(It's a Catch-22! It's a Catch-22!)
(no subject)
Date: 2005-06-20 04:08 pm (UTC)*giggles at N.**laughs* Well, of course! I suppose we're just a pair of sillies, then. *ruffles*
(Isn't everything?)

Date: 2005-06-18 08:57 pm (UTC)If so, when you're finished, tell me what you thought about them! I need fresh books to take with me on all my upcoming trips and it'd be cool to read books /you/ have read too and we can talk about them and stuff.
You know what? Just recommend me some books I haven't read yet, period! Any books! =D
Also: sleep is good. Sleep more!
But don't sleep TOO much, because that will make you go all cranky. That's what it does to me at least (-is weird-).
(no subject)
Date: 2005-06-19 11:03 pm (UTC)All right! No trouble whatsoever! That's always loads of wonderful, to have somebody to talk about books with.
You asked for it. Have you read TMI? Always wonderful, but try to get the Jordan Stump translation, because it's the best. And then there's Crime and Punishment, which I still like, being silly that way--A Clergyman's Daughter, by George Orwell, is very good. Secret Garden--have you read that? A beautiful book. I also recommend Franz Kafka's Metamorphosis, but it is very sad. How's that for a start?
Perhaps. ^_^ It's hard to find time, though.
*giggles* Well, then! I shan't do that.

Date: 2005-06-23 11:52 pm (UTC)Oooh! ooh! Also, if you haven't read it already, Moby-Dick! Absolutely Moby-Dick. And Notre-Dame de Paris; and if you can possibly find it, Jules Verne's Child of the Cavern. Also Howl's Moving Castle, because <3 = Diana Wynne Jones. Actually, all of hers are good--we still love The Ogre Downstairs years later, and Deep Secret was good, and Fire and Hemlock is magic and mind-boggling.
...Ooh, and Watership Down, if you've not read it. Entirely Watership Down. Bweee.
