AHAHAHA.
You know what the temperature in New York is, by Blue Mountain Lake? Seventy degrees. In Pennsylvania, by Soujin's Little House? Ninety-two. God demn it.
Dear people who receive notecards I wrote on Friday: Please to ignore. I was about mad by then, I think.
OMG. I have dislocated my arm! And whacked my neck out of joint! and have cuts all over my feet and my fingers, and yesterday had leeches all over my feet in a great furry patch! But the scars on my arms are gone, and I have new hairpins, Mum bought me new hairpins because they were on sale, so now I don't have to look like Zara after a week on horseback any longer.
I think the time has come to get Vitamin B poisoning again. I abhor my body.
My watch is still alive!
I climbed three mountains and one in spirit, except it was raining and I copped out. Well, Goodknow in September.
Paul, Paul, Paul.
Ohhhhhh! Oh, it's good not to be lonely any longer! Do you know, I was lonely, I was about mad? There's nobody to talk to but loons and birch trees, God help me.
My arm hurts, and I can't move my neck, and my fingers ache and my feet are sore, and my big toe was sacrificed to a waterfall full of leeches, but by Heaven the world is beautiful, isn't it?
I made my prayer, just exactly as I said! I wrapt it in brown paper and blue ribbon, and left it on the alter by the cross when we went to the little wooden church by the lake.
Miss Kylee, you're beautiful, you're wonderful, I can't help it, it spills over, love, it's hard to hold in a teacup.
Hullo, where have I been?
I have been dancing, but missed my--good heavens, I don't make sense.
I think I shall walk down to the post office and fetch the mail, and mail my last two postcards.
Do you know, leeches aren't as big as they always are in films? Mine looked like black inchworms, what it was was that there were so many.
The Albany paper isn't as good as ours.
Luther needs mailing envelopes so he can send his gifts. Silly boy.
My hairpins are so pretty! They look just like my old ones, very simple and easy to put in, but they've little clear stones on them that look so pretty. ^___________________^ Mum bought them because they were on sale, and I kept looking at them.
I shall go fetch the mail.
HOW I MISSED YOU!

Date: 2005-08-20 10:36 pm (UTC)I'm a bit worried. Did you get the postcards from Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday morning (can't remember if I actually wrote that, so if I didn't never mind)? I wasn't sure they'd come in time. *frets a bit about it*
And agggh. The worst I've ever managed was a twisted ankle or the breath knocked out of me.
And your leeches wouldn't have been big, no. Wild ones normally aren't. If left on they swell up and get big. Tame leeches that chemists used to keep were often rather fat because they got fed so well.

Date: 2005-08-20 10:40 pm (UTC)You're sensible.
I sent Harbert a postcard about it. I described it in mostly good detail. But that makes sense, that makes sense. They were a little disconcerting being small, I think, because they got between my toes. Big ones wouldn't have done that.
I love you, I love you! How are you?

Date: 2005-08-20 11:07 pm (UTC)Mmm. Kylee showed me a secret, sneak preview and I assured her you'd love it. After I found myself completely and utterly broken by a single question mark.
...did you get our letters? I've gotten... the birthday card (thank you, thank you so much) and one set of letters so far, but I haven't been home today, so who knows what the post brought this morning.
*tacklepounce* I've missed you so much. On Thursday night, I dreamed I'd read that you had returned home, and so now this feels as if it's not real. I love you.

Date: 2005-08-20 11:20 pm (UTC)^___________^ It does break you, though, does't it? It broke me into bits.
Yes! ^___^ And oh, oh, I'm so glad the card came. Good. There are three letters altogether to come.
I've missed you more! *clings* And I love you, too.

Date: 2005-08-20 11:42 pm (UTC)Yes. Leeeeeches. A whole colony of them. And then, like the idiot I am, I want to find out exactly where I'd picked them up, so I went back and waded about some more and dipped my hands in until I discovered where they lived.
Squee your new icon! ^___^
