Beware of massive Blue Mountain Lake picspam, and let's hear it for the gratuitous Soujin! ^___^ Piiiiicspam!
*happens to be the lyrics to a horrible song Waen is presently playing on the piano, but is, in fact, in essence true; there are silver birches and beavers and--as the next line happily proclaims--mighty moose. I love the Adirondacks.

The view from our house. That's the town! Blue Mountain Lake! ^___^ And mergansers, which are swimming.

And the point for which Prospect Point is named, only I'm not facing out to take the photograph, I'm facing in. It's a path that leads back to the house, and there's a bench on the point where one can sit and look at the lake. Is lovely.
Waen and I in our house!

And then, on the first day, we went out up Raquette Lake, I believe. ^__^ We kayaked to a waterfall and stream.

We found a poison mushroom!

WE PUT IT IN SOUJIN'S EAR. Just like Hamlet's father! Poison in the ear!

It wasn't my idea, by the way.

Goodknow Mountain, with the watchtower! Waen was vastly unhappy; she doesn't like heights. Neither does Da', but he climbed the firetower anyway. So did I, but I don't mind heights most of the time, so nothing special there. ^_^ Beautiful view, though, from on top--one could see all the lakes. <3 It was really lovely.

Catamount! We thought we were below the summit. We climbed to the top of what's behind us. We found we still had another .4 miles to go. We gave up, but only because Waen refused to climb the straight up-and-down bit. Da' promised to take me back next year and go the whole way.

Cascade Pond, for Daddy's birthday. Waen and I are in that photograph. It was so beautiful...! There were newts in the sunny part of the water, green with speckles. ^___^ Waen and I found loads.
Also, this beautiful giant rock on the way to Stephen's Pond, on the same day:

Is Luther's rock. Is big and solid and for-ever, and has a tree to go with it.

APPLES OMG.
Now, three completely gratuitous pictures that have nothing to do with Blue Mountain at all:

Waen made me earrings. Out of an old gold necklace of flowers that broke.

I am regretfully silly, but I have painted all my nails a different colour. While I was at work, to be a palette, you see, so that my ladies would know what the colours looked like. Also, it's fading, but my hand says 'Violets, but they withered all when my father died'. Now it says 'Ay, in my heart of hearts'.And my shirt, which is silk, is covered with grease, because I was washing dishes and accidentally pressed one against me.

Me to-night! An entirely different pair of earrings. These are my Iceland earrings, though. You can't see, but one of the red stones is missing, because in one of the sod houses Siggi took us to, there were two tiny motherless kittens, and one hooked its claws in my earring and pulled out the stone; for which reason I am eternally proud of the earrings.
And that's all. We return you to your regularly scheduled programmes! ^____^
