I look older than I did last week.

There's a new gentleman at work, and he sang the Julie song from Carousel to me. We had a nice conversation about Broadway musicals until he told me he hates Finian's Rainbow the film. Of course, the film is my childhood one true love. So the conversation eased away from music and went instead to med school, since a few friends of his have gone to Juniata.

Jennie is not well. I'm fretting.

Charlie has caught a cold, and is in bed. Without his shirt, I'm realising for the first time how thin he is. One can see where the bones in his arm go into his shoulder. I'm fretting worse over him than Jennie, but he made it through last year with the same cold. Gah. He's not well at all, really.

Daniel isn't either.

But Anna is better than she's been in ages. It's amazing. <3 I am so happy. I love Anna so much. She was making jokes at me Monday, and telling me stories, and oh oh oh I love her.

Curtis gets to go home for Thanksgiving, and so does Agnes! And Ken says he'll be out before Christmas, because his therapy is going really well. I'm glad, because he should never have had to come back in the first place. Bertha's getting well, too, and Stewart went home and Marcie smiles and May is getting lots worse and my people my people I love them.

There was a fire drill to-day. I did things right, but Alberta didn't like being shut in the activity room, and she pulled open the doors and went out anyway, and I was so scared, and I had to be commanding and stern and awful to tell her to go back, because she absolutely could not be out in the hall, and she shouted at me and I was so scared, but then Linda came and told her she had to go back, and she did. But she told Linda how awful I am and that she doesn't know who I think I am--yes, well. She says that rather often, actually. I was just so scared that I had to order her to do something.

And I do look older than I did last week. Less tired, though. I've been sleeping for hours.

Hah, the song that kept getting stuck in my head when I was training myself to think of you as "Julie." *g* And as for Finian's Rainbow, maybe he just couldn't get past Woody the Creep? Because the rest is lovely. (*points to icon* Og's evil twin is baffled by the thought that someone wouldn't like Og's part, at least.)

Eeee. --I'm afraid not. His words were, I believe, 'I hate films of musicals because they ruin the musicals, and they add things in and they take things out and then it's on film, and everyone forgets the musical and remembers the film'. Alas. *makes woeful faces* (Awww.)

Ah. Hmph. Though I can understand his point of view - some musicals were butchered on film. And it's kind of the same thing as a book being made into a movie or musical and everyone forgetting that it was a book first (hi, Ruby Slippers, I'm lookin' at you).

I know, I knowwwww. But I grew up with that film and worshipped it since I was about seven, so I'm sulking.

... you have to lock yourselves in at fire drills? That's... uhm... are the walls fireproof?

Fireproof doors, yes. Also there are emergency exits from all the big rooms, like the library and the activity/sun room.
