To-day I filled in for Waen at her pottery class, since she's in Tennessee, and I threw clay on the wheel for the first time. It's such an odd feeling, sort of a oh-in-my-hands-is-this-thing-I've-made, and it was so small and fit perfectly in my hands, and even when it collapsed I couldn't let it go. I just kept thinking, oh, oh, look at this tiny little thing I've made, isn't that amazing?

On the way home Mum and I talked about having a baby. I said I thought I'd feel possessive, sort of oh, my goodness, this tiny beautiful little person is mine. Mum said what she mostly thought was, oh, my God, it's so tiny and I'm holding it, look at those tiny little fingers, didn't know anything could be that tiny, oh.

Besides the squished vase, I made a big fish tile, a butterfly, and a huge pile of little clay hearts.

Eeee, pottery. ^_^

Babies are headbendy like that. They've got these little hands! Which are just like your hands, only TEENY! Dude.

Clay is so squishy and fun and glee between the fingers.

And their nails are so little. O________O But their heads are really big.

Clay! And the evil, evil wheel! *g* Do you get to go back and glaze everything?

Well, not yet! But we will. We only have three colours of glaze, but we will.

Is it the kind of glaze that's shiny right away, or the kind that you need to put another layer over? I used the (somewhat)shiny-right-away kind in high school, and I think we only had three colors.

On the way home Mum and I talked about having a baby.

So the way I read things is that I look at it in big bits at once, and sometimes a sentence stands out and I miss the context and go BZUH? :o Then I read more carefully. ^^

Pottery is wonderful. I hate having mess on my hands, but I took a summer pottery class for several years and had lots of fun. It really is neat. :)

Babies are-- I don't know. I've never actually been close enough to one to have an opinion one way or another. Except that I don't like them, which is, I suppose, an opinion on its own.

Randomly, I saw Nicholas Farrell on television today. XD I think I am being haunted by Hamlets. (Which reminds me, this was on today. Look at the cast list. I didn't record it, though, sadly.)

They're tiny and wriggly and pink and ugly and they screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeam rilly loud. I don't like them, actually, at all. But I think when I have one that's my own, that'll change.

Heeeeeeeee. Well, Hamlets sort of have a penchant for haunting, don't they? (...OMG BOTH OF THEM SQUEEEEEEEE. How was it?)

We'll see when you have one, then. XD Because I'm certainly not. I suppose I may end up being an aunt-thing eventually, as my sister has names picked out, but.

It's something that runs in the family, apparently. (I don't know. XD I couldn't watch it, either. Someone else was using the cable. But look! ALSO KEVIN KLINE. XD)

But--but--*big eyes* I thought you and Kylee were already having a baby. And it was going to smell of lavender, and have a bonnet--!

On the other hand, pottery class sounds just absolutely wonderful. =)

It is. ^_^ Although it's unbearably hot.

OMG OMG OMG. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. *hides from its luring luringness*

Oh. Well, that's good, then. I don't have to get another bonnet. Because then I would have to make sure it didn't clash with lavender, and I'm horrible at fashion.

Everywhere is unbearably hot; at least there, it is hot and lovely!

. . . that smiley makes me SO happy!!!

Babies are ... scary. I'm so afraid I'll break one, and yet when a baby starts crying I just get annoyed after a few minutes, and that's entirely the wrong reaction, I would be a terrible mother, augh.

But I think you would be a lovely mother. And your child would be lovely, and good for you. Because you are so loving, and the best thing in the world is to have something from yourself to love. ^______^

They do fret awfully loudly. Again, I imagine that once it's mine I won't mind that, although it does get to be a bit much right now. And I don't think there's a mother in the world who hasn't gotten irritated with the baby for NEVER SHUTTING UP ESPECIALLY AT TWO A M DEAR EVERLOVING GOD. :D

Oh--silly. I'd like the rocking and the breastfeeding, though.

*flail* Pottery is amazing. The squished thing happens often - but you had a vase? On the first try? Even if it collapses? That is awe-inspiring. The first, I don't know, 50 times I tried, I never could even get it centered. Congrats at winning at life.

A small squished vase...! It's a tiny class, just five people and two hours long, so the instructor had plenty of time to teach me exactly how to centre it and feel it. And I did loads of things wrong, which is why the vase was small (and squished!). ^_^;;;; Thank you.
