"But When the Sun Hits Your Eyes..."

I'd just like you to know, whether you want to or not, that my girly bits are currently protected by cows.
Now that the daily TMI is done, a quick summary of the day: slept until noon, didn't start anything until two, did maths, got distracted in the middle and wandered around poking stuff, read music appreciation and laughed a lot, went back to maths, searched two rooms for a protractor, started grammar, stopped, did some chemistry, walking into the kitchen and ate a lot, went back and looked at the ceiling, ate more, lay on my back on two chairs for a while, did more grammar, stopped completely and built a theatre out of cardboard for my two paper bag puppets from the Adirondack museum, made posters for THIS EVENING'S PERFORMANCE OF JANE EYRE, rehearsed the play for two minutes, did more grammar, stopped, ate dinner, helped brush the dog, helped clean up dishes, performed Jane Eyre, performed Cinderella, performed Sleeping Beauty, started Hamlet, read some from Hamlet, fussed, ate ice cream despite feelings of guilt, tried to watch a film but couldn't sit still, got online.
...It's like having ADHD.
We discussed things I could do that would get me out of the house; karate, rejoining the fencing team, starting classes at HACC, joining a theatre group, going back to school. None of these has been accepted as a solution. But everybody does think I need something to do, which is probably true, because just at the moment the only times I leave the house are for work on Monday and library on Friday, and apart from that I'm home all the time, and usually for long periods of time I'm completely by myself. We also talked about me getting a job so I could go out and be doing something actively, but we're not sure whether that would help.
Otherwise, Mum's car finally came back from the dealership, and she says it's good as new. To-morrow she and one of her friends and Waen are going out for lunch, and then they'll go to car class. Since Daddy will be golfing all day, I assume I'll be cleaning and doing all the schoolwork I didn't actually do to-day. XD

Date: 2006-11-09 03:50 am (UTC)YES like whoa--but I'm managing to get things done, albeit in increments. ^__^;;

Date: 2006-11-09 03:55 am (UTC)Just judging from the summer, I'd say that something that feels more like a hobby and less like a committment might be the best way to go. Getting out of the house is good, socialising is good, but stressing yourself out is worse. Fencing could be fun--! What about a not-for-credit class? Maybe there's an art center or something, where they let you pay to mess with clay. (You can tell how I used to pass my time.) But-- things like that, maybe?
I told you that the car would be fine. :D

Date: 2006-11-09 04:00 am (UTC)Yesss. I don't know. I don't like fencing. I'm tired of being poked! XD And--maybe that would work? I don't know. I feel so guilty about money. I don't want to do things that cost money. ;___; That's why I'd feel less guilty working.
:P Oh, fine.

Date: 2006-11-09 04:06 am (UTC)*pokes?* Maybe. In some ways, the right kind of job could be perfect. But--you know what happened the last time. And if your parents are talking about it, then you shouldn't feel guilty. They wouldn't consider it, and they certainly wouldn't agree to it, unless they could afford it. Okay? You're only in the talking stage, so you don't to need rule anything out now. Besides, maybe there's something that's free?
I win.

Date: 2006-11-09 04:06 am (UTC)I second the clay suggestion, if you find it agreeable. Cause mmmm, clay. Other than that... I dunno. I know some people at home who go out folk dancing once a week or so, is there anything like that near you?

Date: 2006-11-09 04:07 am (UTC)I used to do Scottish dancing, and then an overachiever I know joined, and made me feel pathetic, so I stopped.
