The place where I stapled my finger last week seems to have healed without developing tetanus. I'm almost disappointed.

Time for poetry!

His Grandmother Talks about God
Paul Ruffin

"I have come, in recent years,
to think different about God,"
she said to the lean young men
who called, dressed in dark suits,
each with a Bible on his knee.
"I'm not so sure, as I once was."
Neither of them said a word.
"Ah, He once was so soft and good,
like some feathered thing to lie
down on and rest, in those days
before I had lived long and hard
enough and suffered enough to learn."
They looked at each other, then away.
Their fingers made crosses on the Bibles.
"He is what we make Him, want Him to be.
When we are young, He is tender
with our years, warm, and exceeding
bright with wings we dream Him."
They nodded and watched her face.
"And when we are old and hard and
perhaps not so very good, He loses
what we lost and becomes, like us,
fierce and dark and wingless,
waiting for the night to come."

I'm rather glad you don't have tetanus, much as I'm glad that I don't have rabies XP

I like that concept of God; it's very subjective or, as an inside joke forgotten by all but me would say, full of waffles. I also like when the young men make crosses on their bibles. This Ruffin fellow sounds clever!

I know, but I'm going to lose my status as most accident-prone person evar, and that's just sad. <3

XD It's from this book of poetry that I just love so much, it's in our juvenile section and called 'Looking for Your Name'. Here's another one:

married 3 months
Sheryl Nemls

Walter always took
his bath
first

then sat in
the car
and honked

while Grace bathed

until
the day
Grace ran

a dripping wet
nude

to the car

Well, perhaps you'll have to... um... Hey, If you're the most accident-prone person, would attempting to achieve pain in ways similar to accidents in fact cause accidental success of the sort where no injuries are sustained at all? --Let's keep it philosophical, no experimentation...!

*giggle* That's silly ^_^ and gave me a vision of a naked woman driving a white cadillac through the streets.

You're making my head hurt, sir! Can we try this in layman's terms? It sounds like it ought to be song lyrics.

Isn't it? :D The modern Lady Godiva!

I apologize, but I can't sort it out any better than I did already... --I can hear an indie band, akin to the Decembrists, doing it.

I suppose it would be better if she drove a white Bronco or Mustang...
