Best. Day. Ever.
It was like rolling down a hill in the sun. It was absolutely perfect.
Bonnie ended up getting two burros instead of one, but while Mama and Maria were transporting the other one I hung out with Sarah and their forty-four cats and we talked and talked and had a wonderful time together. I could be best friends with Sarah. She's someone I'd want to. I need to visit her more often. <3
And the fair! Oh! We got there early and looked at cows, lovely lovely cows, and then tractors (for an hour and a half, bleh. I am not a fan of tractors, really), and then the rabbitses, and flowers and displays and veggies and canned things and artwork and quilting and woodworking and clothes-making and photographs and all sorts of things.
fingersofleaf and
greying_raven had a fantastic time and several animated conversations, to the extent any of Luther's conversations are animated. They went GLEE together.
Then Maria and I rode rides and got thoroughly dizzy and staggered around laughing, and we used up all our tickets but one, and neither of us wanted to do a ride without the other, so we gave our extra to a little boy, and then we bought caramel-nut apples and I won a pretty sparkly green tiara and Maria got a fish--his name is Fish--and we bought Mama cotton candy. It was loud as anything and wonderful and I felt like I was flying when I did the high ride by myself, it was like running on the air.
We went by and said good-night to the cows before we left. <333
On the way home we went over the Juniata River and there was a light below us. Mama said, "Someone must be night fishing."
Soujin: Ohh, that sounds really nice.
Maria: Yeah.
Mama: I wonder if the light attracts fish.
Maria: No, it keeps you from getting the hook caught in your nose.
Soujin: Ha ha! Your point is taken.
Maria: ...
Soujin: As it were.
To-morrow I work from nine to one at the store and then from one to four at the nursing home, and then we're going to the Oriental house for a picnic for the holiday, so I won't be home much. I really, really need to get some sleep somewhere in here. I haven't had more than six hours together since I can't remember when.
Oh, oh, and I got hold of Amy! She's got an exchange student living with her, a girl from Denmark named Camilla. We're all going to get together on Friday the fourteenth and see a drive-in movie and have dinner. I am excited; I love Amy, and I like going out with her. ^___^ Bwee.
